Any new evidence to say that the G2 round has been fixed? I remember seeing a lot of evidence of overpenetration and petals falling off. With FBI, and now potentially CBP going to this load im concerned with the effectiveness of the load. Any good recent info out there?

One of the big agencies who adopted it a couple years ago, reportedly did so after researching other agencies who had been using it (according to one their people attending an armorer class, with whom I discussed this and other topics).

I remember hearing how it had reportedly been revised upon request of the feds after they'd started using it, back when it was a new round, and these sort of things can be quickly done by the big name ammo makers who do a lot of major LE/Gov ammo contracts.

It's been out long enough that it could easily be well within its second or third "generation" by now. After all, it's basically just another polymer-filled nose cavity expanding bullet.

I believe there isn’t a problem per say. It’s that the g2 performs better on certain mediums than the original and less so on others. I believe it still meets fbi minimums in all testing though.

Don’t quote me on any of that though. All info was YouTube acquired . I think the takeaway was it’s ok but no reason to run out and trade what you have.

Personally I’ll carry anything Reliable that made Doc Roberts list a few years back. I think it’s splitting hairs with pistol calibers.

It has change one to many times for my comfort. I dont buy it anymore.
My HST`s, WinPDX-1, Critical Duty have been very accurate and very consistent, for me.
I see no reason to go back wasting money on SpeerG2`s any longer. Our locals use Critical Duty.
Agreed ,if you have something that works and its available no need to change. If your a new gun owner or its all I could find I wouldn't feel like I was undergunned at all.
