Not small, at all being a K frame. I thought he meant something smaller, like along the lines of a charter arms bulldog, but with smith and wessson quality.

No..it was an L frame. And pretty heavy.

They have announced a new no-lock 629 Mountain Gun and a 686+ Mountain Gun also. The L-frame version has a beefed up forcing cone and ball detent lockup. Love a .44 but hot .357 loads and an extra round are something to think about. Wish both versions were cut for moon clips.

Unfortunately, I did in December. Personal experience aside, there's a fair number of QC stories on the S&W forums. Lock or no lock, my money is staying on the sidelines. Fingers crossed that my replacement is in better shape.

Definitely getting a model 19 and 36. These are guns I have wanted for a long time but didn’t buy because of the lock.

I’m wanting one of the stainless no lock guns. I will have to see and handle the one I buy in person though.

I own several S&W Pre-lock revolvers. I haven't bought a new one since they put the locks on. I have purchased several Ruger revolvers, Glocks, and Springfield Armory handguns since then. I used to be a S&W revolver guy but it will be a long time before they get me back if ever.
