Smartcarry Issue

I picked up a Smartcarry recently and cannot get it to carry well with my 30S. It conceals it well but man it is uncomfortable to do anything but stand in. This is wearing it as prescribed in the front sitting at my hips. Anyone have advice on wear?

Never tried a large pistol such as you, but when using my SC I had my best results with a G26 and/or a small 5-shot 357 revolver. LCP would prolly work, too, but never tried that.

I've used one quite a bit with a pm9 & jeans and that would be about my personal limit. you're definitely in cargo pants territory with >= baby glocks, etc...

I own two and one is almost worn out. But I've never been able to get comfortable with it in the advertised position. Not even with a PM9. Even my P3AT doesn't feel very comfortable with the Smart Carry. I have no idea how Charlie does it with a full size 45.

But I use it a lot as a belly bend, and I especially like to use it when lounging around the house. I just carry up around my waist and over shorts or anything else I happen to be wearing or not wearing while lounging around the house.

I shift it around to different positions as necessary for comfort. I.E. 9 to 11 for cross draw, or right side, or where ever I want it for comfort. Since concealment is not a factor, I can just get comfortable with it. And it carries a spare magazine.

Definitely not too much junk probably too much gun lol. I will probably keep my IWB it does a decent job of concealing the 30S. I know it's a fairly large CC gun but I don't like the feel of single stack guns.

Yeah cargo shorts would probably work well or cargo pants this was in blue jeans

Never carried anything larger than my SW 442 in mine. But I used that combo at work for two years with no issues.

I've carried a G23 since 2002 in a Smartcarry Holster and have no issues at all. I've found if you shift the holster left of Center it rides perfect. Plus when you sit down the slide bulges your pants giving the elusion of ”BIG JUNK” .......

I've carried my FNP-45, a really full size 45 ACP, in it, larger than most 1911s, with no problem, so long as I'm wearing comfortably fitting dress slacks.

Here's an idea for you: If you have the security pouch on the Smartcarry, as I do, instead of putting the pistol in the front pouch, experiment with putting it in the security pouch. What happens, at least for me, is that the gun is behind an extra layer of cloth and that helps to hide it better.

A Glock 30S should be no problem whatsoever. And yes, I carry it like that, and even when seated in a car, it's not a problem. Just shift things around a bit and it should work for you.

I almost forgot to say I'm not exactly small... am about 5'11" and weigh about 230. That may make a difference.

Good luck.

G30 is to fat for this carry, but a 1911 is fine..
I can see how a Glock 30 might be too fat for some, however a Glock 30s is easier. From time to time I carry an FNH in it (FNP 45) which is quite a bit thicker than a Glock 30s. If my trousers are loose, which is the way I normally wear them, even the FNP 45 is adequately concealed. Someone who wears more close fitting trousers couldn't pull it off, that's certain. IMHO, some of these situations require a bit of creative dressing, or dressing around the gun. Tight fitting jeans are definitely not going to be satisfactory.

I suggest contacting Smartcarry to help resolve your issues...they are usually understanding and helpful...I believe it has been the best for me (for some years), albeit, like anything else, not perfect...you might want to read the testimonials and often your issue is addressed.:embarassed:
