But not 30 super carry? :D Actually I'm surprised they did it at all after announcing it a year ago.

TTAG links to Sig which notes:

"The P365-380 slide includes an optic cut compatible with the ROMEOZero Elite or any optic with the same footprint. Additionally, the dovetailed front and rear sights allow for effective co-witnessing in the proper configuration. Because the P365-380 shares the same fire control unit and grip module as all standard P365s it is compatible with all of the same accessories, such as flat triggers, FOXTROT lights, XSeries grip modules, etc. Each pistol includes (2) 10rd magazines (one flush fit and one extended) and a magazine loader standard. "

So that's cool.

There's talk of the upper caliber exchange kit in the near future. I'll convert one of my P365's to go 380 now and then.

While I get your point, weaker people like the elderly, women, and male Democrats probably could benefit from a smaller round in a bigger gun.

Softer shooting round, and a slide that's easier to rack... I'm going to say this meant for older shooters, or anyone with less than optimal hand strength that makes a 9mm difficult to handle.

So I'm not sure why we have posters here deriding this new pistol.

Yup. My wife has trouble racking a 9mm slide, my mother can’t do it at all. This might be a really good option for a pretty sizable chunk of the population.

How much larger is the 365 .380 than the LCP Max? I think that will likely be a factor in how much it cuts into the Max's market share. From posts I've read, most Max fans seem to like it for its very small size. The EZ is a good bit larger than either.

I really like my little M&P BG .380, and it's often the only thing I own that will fit in my pocket, but it would be nice if it held a few more rounds. It's about the size of the Max, iirc, and anything much bigger probably wouldn't work for my (women's clothing) tiny pockets.

I'm glad Sig is releasing it. Choices are good.

You should look 8nto the Philster Enigma. There's a Facebook group that is run by the company and lots and lots of women are using it and seem to be happy.

I have one and I like it for the times I'm not wearing a belt, like when I'm in scrubs or athletic shorts. It might work well with your wardrobe if you tend to wear normal to loose fitting clothes.

Well... I'd be waiting for hell to freeze over before Glock produces a double stack G42, so...I'll be happy to buy the .380 P365 instead!

10 round capacity in a G42 footprint, night sights, probably very little recoil, and uber-fast rounds on target- lickity split! And.... it won't be a rust bucket like the LCP max and I'll betcha the P365 will handle HOT underwood ammo because they won't have paper thin barrels like the Max.
Who do I give my money to right now?

This will sell!!! I had my doubts about the Glock 42, and I was wrong.

Well Finalky. Didn’t they first mention it a year ago, it was on the website, then they pulled the info down.

Works for me. :)

I tried the original p365 hated that gun. Couldn’t drop a mag to save my life without completely adjusting my grip and even then the mags hit my palm and wouldn’t drop free without me shaking the gun. And I have medium size hands. I also didn’t trust it with all its teething issues. Sold it pretty quick took the $ and added a Gen 5 19 to my herd. So nope, could care less about any p354 let along one in .380.

You should have changed the grip to an XLversion.

Not something I'm looking for....but I can understand why they built it.

Not everyone is a big manly man who scoffs at wimpy little rounds like .380. As mentioned there are folks who need or just want a tamer pistol than you can get with 9mm in a small pistol.

While I doubt it will replace the 9mm version or even come close to being as big of a hit, I do think it will be a good seller and may well dominate the small .380 market. At the moment the only real competition is the Ruger Max .380 and you know there are a lot of people who would rather have a Sig than a Ruger.

Time will tell but I certainly don't think Sig is making a mistake with this version

I think SIG can reasonably expect to sell something like 250,000 of the P365-380 in the first year, if we estimate based on the fraction of .380 pistols in general.

However, it remains to be seen if the public appreciates the same size pistol in .380. Historically, they hated the concept. Consider P290RS-380 and flocked to Ruger offerings. I am inclined to think that a bespoke design would sell better than the P365-380 is going to. However, it would cost much more to develop and may not make a financial sense.

Unfortunately, I have no idea what the budget for a new model gun at a top level manufacturer looks like.
