I finally got to blow some rounds through the P210 Carry and had promised to report back. I was particularly interested to see how it compared to the Standard and Target model so I brought those
too.
I did 5 shot groups indoors at 25 feet and used FMJ 115 grain Blazer (brass case). I shot off hand in a normal combat shooting stance. I tried to maintain a steady cadence of +/- 1 second between shots.
The targets have a 3.73” circle and a 1.52 Bulls
I will spare everyone duplicate pictures as the my results were pretty consistent.
Here is the Carry (typical result) at 25 feet:
My typical 5 shot group measured an overall 1.69” with 80% within 0.9”. ( I always seem to get that one annoying flyer. It is me). Measurements were taken bullet center to bullet center.
For comparison I shot the “Standard” model the same way
I shot the Standard model slightly better …typical overall 1.2” groupings and an 80% of the same 0.9”.
For fun I stretched the distance to 50ft ( the maximum indoor distance).
The Carry Model:
…….I was typically getting a 2.70” overall spread with an 80% around 1.67”
For comparison I also shot the Target model at 50 feet :
The Overall group size was the same at 2.70” and the 80% typically was the same, also 1.70”.
My overall impressions are the increased weight of the Standard and Target Models seemed to help make the gun more comfortable to handle the overwhelming 9 mm recoil. That said the difference in felt recoil is noticeable ( but big deal it’s a 9mm).
Where I did feel the difference in recoil was the Carry’s slide lock rubbing against my left thumb. Maybe it’s just my grip.
Trigger wise there is quite a difference with the Carry. It certainly isn’t heavy, but it feels heavier than the other models. To me the final take up is also shorter until it hits the wall.
The Standard and Target model seem to have a longer take up and a softer yet still crisp break.
Of course the carry model has to have a heavier tripped pull. It is heavier but still as light as I think is feasible.
All things considered I am happy with the purchase. Please understand I am not representing myself as a great shot or saying this was great shooting. All my guns shoot better than I can. I think my shooting to day was so-so at best. Certainly nothing memorable.
just to end this here is a 25 foot group from my Staccato XC from a few months ago.
It’s a different Target style but the 80% was 0.51” with my usual flyer.
