Nothing special. Just a factory Kimber Eclipse Custom II. Me thinks it's one of the nicest looking 1911's out there. It's the only 1911 I have so it gets all the attention. Of course looking at bac's collection makes me want to add more.

Why is it with two tone 1911's that the frame is usually the stainless one and the slide is usually finished with a blue or something similar? I would think it would be more benefiticial for it to be the other way around.

The frame is stainless (or hard chromed or nickeled) for increased corrosion resistance where one grips the pistol, and the slide is blued so as to not create issues with sighting in a classic two-tone. Nowadays lots of people like the reverse two-tone look, something I attribute purely to aesthetics.

1911s and non-1911s are opposite when it comes to two tone. :dunno:

My friend had a STI Guardian and he loved it... I had several opportunities to shoot it and it was very nice...
