Should a new AK be lubed?

I bought a folding-stock Yugo in the fall of '08. I've never gotten around to firing it. I just bought a Tapco retaining plate after reading several recommendations on this forum. Since I'll be dragging the rifle out of storage to pop in the retaining plate, I was wondering if the internals should be lubricated.

Thanks for the advice!

I too like good ole CLP on all my weapons. That is what I use on my AK's.
Me too. I'll use a good copper solvent for the chamber and bore every once in a while, but most of my AK cleaning is with CLP. Hose it out with CLP, wipe of the excess, ready to roll.

Use grease instead of oil, AK have loose tolerances and take to grease better then oil. I use Weapon shield grease on everything and its super smooth and runs like a champ. Main spots to get are the rails, bolt, and the hammer where the bolt rides over it.
