Based on the few pics I’ve seen, it appears to

Am I thinking of something else, or do I remember you can order the attachment piece to convert standard 6360 to high ride?

Yep, it just replaces the standard belt loop on the 6360, 6280, etc.

It's the bomb. I've been rocking one for a few years now thanks to a suggestion from this very forum.

Clears the console and puts the gun almost exactly where my much loved SSIII / 070 did.

I used to carry a 1911 in a very high ride Milt Sparks duty holster. (Never really made them, I have connections...)

Now I carry a 1911 in a Safariland with the hood. And, a really low drop. Done too many stupid things to my shoulder. Drawing a gun almost to my armpit doesn’t work as well anymore.

I’ve used a high ride since 2010, no issues. Tac gear, external vests, works well with all of it. It’s not a huge investment either, the cost is minimal.

I’m ordering one for my new holster. I ride a bike and I want something that rides like my old 070 did.

Kinda pisses me off this was available all this time and I didn’t know it. I looked several years ago and either didn’t find it, or it wasn’t available then.

Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah Safariland has done a piss poor job of advertising these. IMO when you order a holster you should get a drop down menu (like when you select what hand to use, the gun make, etc) that gives you ride height options... they make a ultra low ride shank too, why not put the 3 versions as options when you get the holster?

Before I had the high UBL I used that rubber belt loop linked by Cochese. I think I had it for 2 or 3 years. No issues with it's function or security. It could probably use spacer to push the holster out a little though because it tucks it in tight to your side, tighter than I would like a duty holster to sit. Without the hood I popped open the ALS with my body a lot.

That’s very reassuring! Thanks for the pics too. I don’t wear a uniform, but once in a blue moon these days, but I may just pick up one of these adapters. They’re definitely cheap enough.

I've used one, though not open carry on a duty belt. It's pretty much similar to the 565BL from safarliand, but for duty-belt widths and a neutral cant for comparison's purposes. I just ran it last weekend because I couldn't find my 565BL or my paddle attachment when heading to my parents for Christmas weekend. (I use a 7TS concealment holster with a QLS.)

I'm issued a G17 with Streamlight TLR-1. I've moved out of patrol (Detective)...as such, was issued the 6378 w/ Paddle attachment. The Paddle is VERY comfortable and works well, but seems to cant the muzzle outward, so concealment isn't very good. I bought the 565BL and the UBL High Ride...both seem to work very well, with the UBL High Ride being a bit more comfortable. Both the 565BL and the UBL High ride are higher than my mid-ride holster I had on Patrol. HUGE improvement when sitting....

The 565BL and the UBL High ride are SLIGHTLY different in ride height. IIRC, the 565BL rode a tad higher than the UBL High ride. The UBL High ride was a tad more comfortable though. I'm still bouncing between the two trying to see which I like better.

HOWEVER, I did just get the DeSantis TacLite Holster. My Agency has a requirement that we have either Thumb-breaks on our leather, or the ALS/SLS on our Safariland holsters. After exhaustive searches, it seems only DeSantis (TacLite holster) and Safariland (with their "REVEAL" Holster) make leather concealment pancake holsters with retention (thumb-strap) for G17's with the Streamlight TLR-1's. The TacLite is VERY comfortable, rides higher than either the 565BL or the UBL High Ride, and is VERY concealable, even with the full size G17 & light! (albeit I do wear a fleece vest to help conceal).

LA Police Gear has the 565BL's for like $10. Grab one and try it. Can't go wrong for that price. Either way, the 565BL or the UBL High Ride will definitely make a HUGE difference when sitting in a patrol car

PS: I'm a lefty, so didn't have the issue with the console...but DARN if it didn't hit the seat and ride up and dig into my side!
