Grand Rapids woman kills self at Wyoming shooting range

WYOMING -- A 29-year-old Grand Rapids woman killed herself in a Division Avenue shooting range shortly after 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The woman, who had been a regular customer at the Silver Bullet Firearms Indoor Range & Training Center at 5121 South Division Ave., rented a handgun, fired a few times at a target while in the shooting lane, then turned the gun on herself, said Wyoming Police Capt. Brad Schutter.

There was one other customer in a lane at the time and two others in the business. The victim died at the scene.

I feel bad for her, her family and owners and operators of Silver Bullet. That's got to be a terrible thing to go through.

I was there today and things seem pretty normal. Talked to a friend of mine and the owners are pretty shocked.

I just shot there today.

While I was checking out, I quietly asked the cashier about it. He said that all he was allowed to say was that it was a suicide.

I believe it happened at Double Action as well a few years back. Either way what a horrible thing and I really feel for the family.
