I'm gonna pick up 50k SMALL PISTOL primers, these are all in the same price range. I remember a few years ago Wolf had some quality problems, but seem to be past that now.

What would be your choice among these three brands?

I used a thousand of them a while back. Never any problems.

The only problems I have had with that list was just harder than normal SPP's. Tula/Wolf SPP have given me problems with both seating and light strike issues, mainly because of how hard they are cup wise.

I avoid SPP in Tula/Wolf for that reason. I have buddies that have shot them by the tens of thousands, so YMMV.

I prefer Tula/Wolf for my precision rifle loads (both small and large).

I have never tried S&B, so please post your experiences with them after you get through a few thou.

Of the S&B I've used in the past couple of years no problems what so ever and now my preferred 209 primer is S&B over all others. SJ 40

I've run S&B sp, sr & lp, all worked fine. I would rather spend my $$ their than with the Putinistas. 50K is a nice cushion.:supergrin:

It was a group buy. Only 17k are going on my shelf. With hazmat, freight and everything it was 2.33 cents per primer. Not the "good ole days" but not bad either.

We will never return to sub $20/k primers, unless China starts making them. You did fine.

I had some issues with light primer strikes with S&B large pistol primers. No problems with their small pistol primers. Never had any problems with Tula or Wolf primers of any kind. However, they do seem a little hard to seat sometimes.

I have the 4LB striker spring in my G34 the wolf gave me some light strikes, with the standard spring they were OK. The Tula and Wolf all come from the same factory, basically the same product. I have used both, except for their light strikes in with reduced power springs they have run fine for me.:wavey:

I've used all three brands in either large or small pistol. They've always gone bang when I pulled the trigger. No complaints about any of them so far.

I have used thousands of Tula with no problems, have a few problems with Wolf and never tried S&B.

The primers shows up yesterday. They are labeled for small pistol, revolver, and rifle. That's cool! Apparently no need to buy separate small rifle primers if you use S&B 4,4.

Haven't popped any yet. Half have gone out the door to new homes already.

As a side note, I found a slip of paper on my primer shelf where I had paid $13.70 per thousand for primers in 2007. This was on a big order too. But it wasn't that long ago! I don't think we've had 70% inflation over 7 years.

$9.95/K for Win in 1991, retail too!:wow: You can't print $85B a month for 4-5yrs & not expect prices to go up & unfortunately, never come back down.

Same here.

Some guns handle the hard primers better than others.

No problems with wolf primers in my Beretta 92. My G23 with a LW conversion barrel has an occasional problem. Beretta Nano has a light strike every 4 or 5 rounds. No problem with factory ammo in the nano.

I bought 5000 SP Wolf primers 6 years ago. They still fire no problem on my 92FS. However, with my G17, I had an average of 2 misfires in every 2 full mags due to light strikes. What gives???
