I wish they went the route of the p365 and started with a shorter barrel and slide like a G26 and then kept getting bigger.
The G19 sized pistol market is where it's at. Just think of all the guns out there in that size.

I have a gen 5 Glock 26 it is actually thicker overall due to a ambi slide release.

Anyway, what I was hoping for was Ruger would have made a Glock 26 length slide and barrel that fit on the RXM module/FCU. That way I could have a longer gripped 26(26x) with an optics cut and rail or I could put it on their new shorter gripped module.

As others here have stated, it looks like they won't being going that route.
Thicker than what? They all fit the same holsters

Thanks for the heads-up... and the price is outstanding, considering the highway robbery some companies charge for P320 and P365 grips.

Springfield and Ruger/Magpul are doing it right.
Absolutely. I've been saying this since the RXM came out. Charge a realistic and affordable price for modules, and it'll take off. :) $39.99 is excellent.

I really wish they would do these with a gen 4/5 mag release.
Not needed. The mag release on the RXM is excellent; big enough to easily actuate, but unobtrusive and melted enough to not bug your support hand or accidentally release the mag.

I imagine Ruger is evaluating the cost/benefit of manufacturing a 19L variant of their slide. This would be similar to the Glock 49 but with a Gen3 style nose ring and RSA.

I hope they consider doing all slide lengths. 17, 19 (which is the current RXM) and the 26 length slide. They could have a do it all purpose FOW. Duty down to a solid CCW. The Security 9 and Sec 9 Compact already do the Glock 19 and 26 size, but they're budget pistols at best. The Max 9, while a decent Micro 9 akin to the P365 type tiny weapons, just didn't do great.

They need a new line, and the RXM is it. They just have to act on it.

Imagine this: Glock 17, 19, 26, and therefore you can have a Glock 45 type build with all OEM Ruger and Magpul parts. It becomes bigger, then they can get into the 43X and 48 Slimline types with a new FCU chassis, and then even make the Glock 43 with a 10 round mag. Ruger already makes great in house metal mags, so it's not hard to imagine. They should get rid of all the old stuff, whilst maintaining warranty and parts availability support, and go all in on the RXM and RXM Slimline future.

I'm dreaming, but man, it would be cool.

With a spare RXM locking block for $26 and a sub-compact grip module for $40, it should be possible to mill an additional 2mm into the locking block (to accept a G26 RSA) and then chop and widen the grip module (to accept a G26 slide with the bigger nose ring). With your G26 (MOS) slide on there you've now got a true sub-compact RXM with a (short) accessory rail.

Why not just wait for them to release their new sub-compact grip and components? Magpul EHG™ RG9™ Grip – Ruger® RXM™ Sub-Compact, Model MAG1516
