Looking at another gun purchase and I do like Ruger. I also want another G19 though and I want a G17. The Ruger is obviously cheaper, I'm just wondering if anyone has an opinion on the security 9. Thanks!

I have a Ruger stainless single six 22 WMR/LR with the two cylinders from 15 years ago and a very old H&R 9 shot Single action 22 LR. TBH I rarely shoot them as it's a PIA to unload and reload the single action cylinders, I also have a G44 and we shoot that all the time. Not really answering your question but hope this helps.

I have the ruger security 9 and the compact version. It is comfortable to shoot. I haven't had any issues with mine. A decent gun for the money.

Safety is a non starter to me. I won’t use a pistol with a safety for defensive use. For a range plinker, who cares.

The guns are ho hum. I’d save another $100 and get something better. An M&P2.0 or P320 would add variety to your Glock.
