If it ain't free float, it ain't accurate. Colt's 1:7 ain't stabilizin' nothin'.

If it ain't mid-length the recoil will punish your shoulder which won't matter because the bolt will break by the end of the first magazine.

Gotta have picatinny 360 from the grip past the muzzle so you can hang all your crap.
For some reason I'm picturing a whole group of tacticool hipsters following this comment like it's the gospel! LOL

Sad to hear the few issues with the Ruger. I have bought several for clients and they have performed flawlessly. Great rifle at a great price.

Off the top of my head, the delta ring and FSB and flash hider.
"Proprietary" meaning they're different, sure. But all can be replaced by standard parts, no? I don't own one, but I'm sure that would have been relayed by a reviewer somewhere.

Just picked up an MPR with an 18” barrel. I mounted a Trijicon MRO and Midwest backup irons to it-just need to find time for a range trip now.

What do you guys think about Rugers m4 style rifle as opposed to the Colt m4 ?.....what about Smith and Wesson m&p m4 style rifles ?
I bought a Ruger AR556, 16", $499 about 4 years ago. I put nearly 2k rounds through it and decided to upgrade the trigger (nice 2-stage) and add a red dot (H503GU). Probably put another 2k through it when I thought it would be cool to hunt deer with it, so I added a scope. Reloaded some 77gr TMK and discovered the rifle would shoot tiny groups.

Am I happy? Yes. Would I do anything different? Yes, I would buy the 18" MPR instead ( wasn't available when I bought the AR556).
