As stated above...

Shoot it a whole bunch before you start tinkering with it.

The top Glock 20 has almost 1000 rounds through it, and is plane-jane stock. The one on the bottom has over 7000 rounds, and if I go back and check, it might have over 8000 rounds by now. It has Meprolight Night Sights, 3.5# connector, textured grip, and an extended slide catch. I have carried the modified Glock 20, almost every day, for more than 10 years.

I plan on taking the stock Glock 20 out to the garage and "Chopping" the grip so it will use Glock 29 magazines and be easier to conceal while keeping the longer slide and higher velocities of the Glock 20.

I'm going to mod my G20 as I see fit. It will never have a round fired out of the OEM barrel. Nor will a primer ever be lit off with a stock trigger. Honestly I don't like Glock sear's. But I have not seen a cleaner better made after market sear. And don't know if ones made.

I will make my 20 mine and mine only. :)

As for mod'ing weapons and or using reloads as your ammo of choice. It's not a issue at all where I live or in any state I know of that I am likely to travel to. A clean shoot here is a clean shoot. And the laws do protect the shooter. The pharmacist is OKC did cross the line. As much as I hate it. There are states I refuse to go to. I will not go to them for work, pleasure or family.

Pork_Chop, You left out specifically what the G20's intended purpose is.
I have a G20 that I have put in an extended slide release, a slug plug, Truglo Mepro Adjustable sights, a 22 lb. guiderod spring, LWD 5.15 tactical barrel, A LWD 6 " ported barrel, a 3.5 lb. connector, and a titanium safety plunger. I'm also planning grip reduction and texturing. I shoot only 200 gr. bullets at 1325 fps. I'm over 50 and don't run anymore. Hollow points for two legged creatures and FMJs for four legged creatures. 40% of what I shoot will hopefully hit meat. I made this gun to kill, nothing less. I don't go to the range as much as the other guys. If I shoot for fun, it is usually with a .22 auto while plinking. I grew up in the swamps of Louisiana, so my priorities may be a little different.
The point that I am trying to make is that I customized this gun for it's intended purpose, which I had to select. I whole heartily agree with Oceanbob on running the gun stock for awhile before you do anything to "customize" it, if nothing else, just to "FEEL" it. Then you can answer the one question that these guys or anyone else can't answer for you;
"What do I want this gun to do for me"? Once you answer that, then their selected advice becomes more valuable. Actually, in a way, my gun was built by them, collectively.

Exactly.

My purpose for my G20 is for a hunting backup (to my primary Fusion Hunter) and for carry. Whatever my G20 does, it also has to perform in the field for longer shots and has to digest my hotter handloads. I'll replace my trigger connecter, recoil spring/rod, barrel and sights out with aftermarket parts. Then, I will run it hard to ensure reliability before using for carry.

Do you have any good pictures of your Glock 20 with the 5.15 inch barrel?

I have been carrying the G20 for well over 12 years now (Gen2 and now Gen3) and have probably sold at least 50 of them just from our yearly quals.... and that was when she was factory stock. Over the last 8 months I've gotten to tinkering with her (not that she needed any tinkering but you know how boys and their toys are). First off, I took off the factory night sights and put on a set of ghost ring night sights (the front blade sits tall so you can't use 75% of the duty holsters out there, keep that in mind and you'll be fine), then I wanted to pretty her up a bit so I polished the slide (and I do mean polished..... chrome-like), added a pachmyr slip-on, Carver Custom magwell (this balanced her out to near perfection and it's easier to control than my Sig P226 in .357sig), added a 20# recoil spring, threaded wolf match grade barrel and a flash suppressor (if you shoot the 10milli in low light you already know why), extended chrome finger controls and pin set, put a few +2's on my mags and now carry 17+1 x 3. All in all, she shoots sub 8" groups at 50yds all day, every day, any day. Not just for me, but my buddy's wife (who is firearm illiterate and 4'11"). If you're looking to take Bertha from big and bad to big, bad, brutal and beautiful, feel free to try a few of these things I've listed. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?...?fbid=10151625755180993&set=pb.681255992.-2207520000.1374413106.&type=3&theater
