I have the Serpa and a G19. I really like the holster, but in terms of concealment, I just like to be sure that I have a large outer garment such as a jacket. As others have said, it will become noticeable in certain positions or with tighter clothing for sure.

When I got my SERPA for my G26 I was concerned about the very same thing. I'm 6' 3" and 210lbs and it disappears with most all of my looser clothing. Just a heads up though, the SERPA for the G26 doesn't have as snug of a fit as the one for the full sized models; contact Blackhawk and ask them to send you a 'rail spring'. A little round plastic washer that pushes up on the front of the gun when holstered. My G26 wobbled back and forth in the holster until I got my rail spring, and now she's nice and snug. It's simple to install one as it sits just under the retention screw.
Good luck!
I have the same problem with my G27. Do you have Blackhawk's cutomer service number or email address to where you odered your "rail spring"??? And how much is the part??? Thanks

I have a Serpa for both my G26 and my G20.

It is not a good holster for concealment. You can definately do better. That said, if you wear a very large shirt, long enough vest, jacket, coat, etc, of course it will conceal adequately.

The rail spring was free and took about a week to get here. I just emailed cs@blackhawk.com and told them about my problem and that I was told a rail spring should do the trick. I gave them my address and they sent a reply saying they sent one to me. Worked like a charm!

I've heard mumblings that you could get in touch with someone who will tell you that you have to send your holster in, which is a bunch of BS. Just try again until someone just sends you one. Good luck!

Great info dude thanks

So does the 19 fit in the Holster made for the 26?

"i prefer my c rusty sherrick high ride for concealed carry..."

Now that's a proper CCW holster!

Rusty makes Superb leather, have similar for P7M8's and P-35's, etc.

Excellent holster. Zero problems. And yes, the paddle mount rides closer than the belt mount- and this is usually the opposite of what you'll find with paddle holsters. The serpa is great. I use one occaisionally on and off duty. They are not the most concealable holster out there. They stick out a bit more than my glock sport, bianchi carry-lok, or Fletch.

I own one also, I agree w/ others about the paddle, it does ride closer. I personally like it. But when I dress differently, I want a variety of holsters. For my Serpa, I mainly wear basketball type shorts, and a 3X Fruit of the Looms T Shirt (I am 6'1", 196) :ladiesman:

I spent about 35 minutes this weekend trying to get that damn Blackhawk paddle to work. Drove me nuts.
I agree. I use the holster only with a very large coat. I am 5'11" and 220 lbs also and the damn gun sticks out from my side way, way too much to be a cc application.

I carry an M&P 9MM full size in a Don Hume JIT and it keeps snug to the side.

The Serpa is a great holster but I'd never consider it a year-round concealment rig.
It is far too thick in belt or paddle configuration and the outward cant pushes the grip out so far that it prints in any warm weather wear. Great holster for OC or coat weather, but for the rest of the year a Comp-Tac paddle or an IWB is far better.

While there is no "outward cant", these holsters stand farther out from the belt than many concealment holsters. Not an "under a t-shirt" holster, but a fine holster nonetheless.

I was looking at purchasing a Blackhawk CQC Serpa Sportster for my Glock 26. I want to be able to carry it concealed at about 4:00 underneath either a jacket or overshirt (hawaiian, etc.). I'm approximately 5' 11" and 220 lbs. Do you think that this holster will ride close enough to the body so that it won't print very much? Input is greatly appreciated.
I have this exact holster for my 26. Mine came with the paddle attachment only. I use mine for around the house and for range use. It does a great job for the purposes I use it for.

:agree:

---with the one exception that I don't quite consider it to have an "outward cant." But I do agree with the main points shared by SAG.

I usually carry a G21 in a blackhawk with a slight forward cant. it works good under a loose hooded sweatshirt or button up hanging open and obviously under a jacket. otherwise i carry a G21 in a crossbreed IWB at about 4 o clock if i want to wear t-shirts or something tight fitting.
