I believe NOTHING they "say". 'News' readers actually call themselves journalists! Our local NBC affiliate has never met a fact that they could check before broadcasting.I remember one where they had oxygen tanks not shipped properly.
and this one from 2013, that I was quick enough to take a photo of the TV. Reminds me that “news” outlets are full of stupid people, so don’t blindly believe anything they say.

Which is why there is no set fee from suppliers. They decide what they think is fair. Sure if Midwayusa charge $25, then most other will charge that.Ever hear of Jet Blue?? That's what happens when Haz isn't handled correctly. HazMat fees cover the expense of making sure the pkgs are in compliance with Federal Regs. There is a lot of training and costs involved with that training.
That's how I look at it... price to the door. If that price TTD is agreeable to me, the company gets the sale. If that price had to include shipping or HM, or not. What counts is TTD.Well all regulation has a cost. So they can raise prces or add a fee. Buy tires or get an oil change, disposal fee. So shipping cost matters I always look at total cost to me. So etimes I may pay more for an item but shipping is "free" or cheaper.
