Thinking of putting a tritium night front sight on my G21. Have not had one before. I know they are better at night but during daylight hours are they at least as good as the standard front sight?

I've found the best for me is the Truglo TFO. It's a fiberoptic sight with a Tritium vial in front of it, so best of both worlds being bright both day and night.

All of my Glocks get Trijicon HD’s with the orange front. They are fantastic for day or night. I also have them on my 21sf

Ive been replacing the factory and Meprolights on my Glocks as they go out with Ameriglo three dot sights (GL-241). They have an orange ring around the front sight and white rings in the back. Their sights have a better front to rear light "gap" than the factory and Meprolights and its quicker and easier to get a sight picture.

I’m planning to send my G19 in to have the factory sights swapped out for Ameriglos at the end of the month. I’ve been putting it off for years now, but want to have a better low light option considering it’s my home defense and my go-to pistol in a SHTF situation. I have a friend that did that a few times with his Glocks and he hasn’t regretted it one bit.

How does that work? Do you need to use an ffl to send the slide to the factory? Where do you send it? What does it cost? How long does it take?

Why would anyone ever send a gun in somewhere to put new sights in? Save your money, buy a good sight pusher, and install yourself. This is not rocket science and the Glock is not some special piece of material that you can't work on yourself.

I mixed and matched on my G21....the front site is a Night Fision with the white ring and the rear I'm not sure....Meprolight? maybe...it's been a few years.

I like the Night Fision front sites, but they don't offer much variety in their rear sites, so I have a habit of using other rear sites or just leaving the rear stock. For me the front site is the important one. Their sites are very bright and if you get one of the colored rings, still gives good daytime visibility.

If I already have the sights, my LGS charges $15 to install them, on the spot. It’s a 10 minute job on a Glock - there’s no reason to send anything anywhere.

As good as glock front is subjective & depends on brand. I like Heini straight 8 for NS. Basically black sights with inserts. For day shooting, my pref is black sights or back rear, FO front. Plenty of front sight options, but i replace front & rear because i dont care for glock plastic sights or the stupid white outline rear.

Slides can be sent by anyone to anyone if needed. Replacing glock sights is pretty simple though.

This is my 2006 G26. The rear sight is an original Glock night sight that has now faded somewhat. The front is an Ameriglo installed in late 2020.

If you want to replace the rear, get yourself a sight pusher and do it yourself. For the front sight you'll need a thin walled hex wrench and loctite (some say "Blue", some say "red", a few say none).

I like trijcon night sights and it’s my go to on all of my Glocks. My LGS does it for free when I buy the sites from them. Win/win

there’s plenty of good sights out there but I happen to like the yellow and the orange HD’s.

With 2 dot rear i prefer an old sight. Why i like the Heini Straight 8, dot on a dot. Just got a new 320, its bugging me.

I have these on my G30, G26, and one of my G19s. They work just fine for me.

I tried the Straight 8's when they first showed up and they drove me crazy. Ive been shooting three dot sights since before they were ever lit, and my brain was always slowing down trying to resolve the two dot alignment instead of getting a quick sight picture and just shooting. They are fine for a quick, up close rough alignment, but you lose vertical precision with them as you only have horizontal alignment.

With the three dots, you get instant horizontal and vertical alignment, and you can use the dots as a true sight picture, day or night. Up to about 15 yards or so, I use the dots to shoot with more than I do a traditional post and notch sight picture.

They also let you shoot with precision "through" a suppressor without having to use the higher suppressor sights.
