Why would you want to use ball ammo in a gun like the Seecamp? It's not a plinking or target type of gun.Seecamps are cool in a man- jewelry kind of way, but they don't shoot ball ammo, so no dice.
In calibers like .32acp and often .380, I want the round to make it to the valuable giblets. Expansion is icing in such applications, but penetration is the cake. Why would you want to use ball ammo in a gun like the Seecamp? It's not a plinking or target type of gun.
That makes sense, but you could use the non expanding Underwood Cavitator ammo it has a shorter design and is a reliable feeder according to those that test it on the Seecamp website. In calibers like .32acp and often .380, I want the round to make it to the valuable giblets. That merits consideration, I do like the pistol. That makes sense, but you could use the non expanding Underwood Cavitator ammo it has a shorter design and is a reliable feeder according to those that test it on the Seecamp website.
Some folks on the Seecamp forum claim good results with WInchester White Box FMJ, as found at WalMart:That merits consideration, I do like the pistol.
The other knock is simply not having the option of commonplace and relatively cheaper ball ammo to practice and develope familiarity with the gun. You're basically stuck with expensive ammo usually 20 rounds at a time.
I like the seecamps for what it is; a well made tiny pistol with surprisingly good ergos for being so small...but it's a quirky gun and expensive to shoot.
Could be, I know win uses a flat point on some of their mouse rounds, so oal might work. Some folks on the Seecamp forum claim good results with WInchester White Box FMJ, as found at WalMart:

You're right it's when people like me that have nothing to protect themselves and get in trouble one of these tiny guns would be wonderful. Even when I'm alone in my apartment and someone unknown comes by I would feel much safer having just a Seecamp over my kitchen knife.Guys arguing about the difference in power over tiny pistols = FUNNY.
They're "get off me" guns, fellas. I carry one. Mine's an LCP, and it is what it is. I shoot FMJ because I want it to poke a .356 hole as reliably as possible.
Now, if you want to talk about these vs. the 9mm, we can start talking. A little.
But you'll have to get to the .357/.45 ACP arena before you can really argue. And compared to a decent rifle or shotgun, you won't have much of an argument even then.
Just carry. Something. A sharp stick is better than nothing.
Black Seecamps Matter!
If it's cold enough to bundle up in layers of winter clothes, a pocket pistol can be much faster than unzipping and unbuttoning enough outerwear to get inside for the IWB.This time of year I don't think about little pocket guns because CC is so much easier with winter clothing. I like the full size pistols best but I only get to carry them during the winter months when I can flop my heavy coat over my belt and hide a G 17 with ease.
Never take a handgun to a gun fight.Guns are always better than knives, never take a knife to a gun fight.
