You'll have to provide reliable sources for this inside knowledge, as well as specific data on the Dagger. You stepped in it-- now defend it.

Roll pins are not inferior for their purpose-- just harder for consumer to take in and out unlike the Glock. Not so fun and satisfying to take it apart -- YES you need a good hammer, real punch and a block, and need to wack hard at it-- and yes you can damage it from the wacking.
Poly80 uses 17-4 and hardens their slides, and uses a more resistant finish. The Dagger slide is 416R, uses Cerokote, and it isn't clear if they harden their slides. Their early barrels were 416R, but now appear to be a higher grade 410, but 17-4 is more wear resistant and stronger.
We recently had a member here who was complaining of his slide/barrel mashing into eachother and causing deformation.
Others have complained of shooting out their Dagger barrels in less than 2K rounds.

Personally, when I handle an actual P80 slide and barrel, it feels on par with Glock--almost.

My thoughts:
Why is this gun half the price of the one copied; and where are they saving all the money?
Not trying to disparage the deal, but quality has to be compromised somewhere to be half the price.
GLOCKs cost around $75 to produce. The market always sets the price, which is why the name brand sells for what it sells for. Remember when HS2000s were being imported for $250 all day every day, then Springfield threw their name on them and called them the XD lineup and people immediately started paying $450 for them?

Very valid point. I am reminded of Schwinn bikes that commanded a lot more than the KMart offshoot when I was a kid. If the materials are of equal quality - you've got a quality gun for half price!!!

Interesting story - When Clairol home hair coloring came out in the 50's, it was a great product, but wasn't selling. Market analysis showed people thought it was garbage because of the reasonable price. The shelf price was substantially increased, and the rest is history! 🤷‍♂️
