I just picked up one of the new G19 Gen4 FULL FDE with the Cerakote slide. Lipseys specs list the Cerakote as Flat Dark Earth. The color chart on Cerakote looks like a different shade. Has anyone researched this or can confirm the color used is in fact FDE??? I have a Dark Earth with the black slide I am going to have coated to match. I will know next week when I take it to the shop and can place a sample piece beside the slide in person. Just curious if anyone knows here already???

Thank you, 17glock17. I was able to put Gunblast and Lipseys into YouTube and came up with the video you were referencing. The Lipseys rep said that Cerakote made a custom color for them to match the glocks. That explains why there wasn't a perfect match on the Cerakote page. I wasn't familiar with Gunblast. Now I will have to find out if that color is reserved for Lipseys or if it will be another new Cerakote color. Thanks again for the assist.

I'm just wondering if this coating or color will still resist rust like the older Gen 2's Tenifer ?

My pleasure. Jeff at Gunblast does a good job. Nothing crazy sophisticated but it is a neat little channel and I like his style.

I saw some at the recent gun show but the colors didn't seem to match very well. Overall, a pretty good looking gun. Will be interesting to see how the slide finish holds up.

Congratulations to those of you who purchased one. I wish I would have looked at them closer at the gun show.

Like anything, lighting is important. Light is going to reflect different off an injection molder polymer than it will off a cerakoted slide.

You are so correct. And I really only glanced at them. I have a heck of a time taking pictures of my FDE and ODG frames, color turns out differently based on lighting and also depending on which camera I use.

We have a few in shop. The slide seems slightly lighter but not a huge difference. Looks good.

I personally like when the shades are slightly different on guns. Like how FN does their SCAR FDE or FNX45 Tac.

My local gun store has been selling them, had a few issues with them. This might just be an isolated case, no internet wide spread rumors please. Not so long ago, I had my Gen 3 G17 and Gen 4 G19 slides Ceracoted. Went through Gunsite Academy with my G17 and no issues through 1500 rounds but my G19 hard jammed after maybe 25 rounds. Ended up being due to the striker channel liner not being replaced after the Ceracoting, caused the striker to jam up. We called Glock and they said the liner should be replaced after the Ceracoting as it could cause issues, like it did in my G19. Replaced, no issues in over a 1000 rounds since...replaced in my G17 as well. So same thing supposedly happened to a few local customer fully FDE guns. The shop called Glock and Glock sent them a bunch of sleeves to replace the current ones as it is believed they were not replaced after the Ceracote.
