More accurate vs. G19

The last couple of trips to the range I've noticed that I'm more accurate with my Glock 43 than my Glock 19. Not by a large margin, but I'll have more flyers with the 19. Maybe I concentrate more because of the size of the little pistol, or I'm more focused because I'm only shooting 6 rounds at a time.

I would say that I'm shooting my G19 and G22 about the same with a slight nod over both by my G43.

When I go to the range, I tend to take 9mm more.
One week I take 9mm, & 22cal.
Two weeks I'll take 40cal & 22cal.
Two weeks later back to 9-22, next 45 & 22,back to 9s & 22
I was going every Monday, till my Dr. checked my blood for lead, and it was elevated. He said to quit going to indoor ranges. I told him the indoor range is 5 miles away and outdoor range is 35 miles, and have to buy ammo from them.
Next thing I said I would cut my range visits to every other week, or start looking for another Doctor. He agreed. Lol.
10 miles round trip or 60 miles round trip.
Crap ammo at twice the price.
A lot more Doctors than good ranges.

I've thought about that. I only have an indoor range around here. They crank the fans up so it's like a wind tunnel! I know that's a good thing but it sometimes makes the targets dance!!! :frown:
As long as you're not actually handling lead, would a dust mask do the trick as far as preventing inhalation of lead? I use "Lead Off" wipes after going and finish with Purell. The wipes have a good ability for removing lead from the skin. Seems with a dust mask you could be all right indoors, no?

My indoor range has super good ventilation. It's like the wind is at your back and it's strong enough to blow your target off the table unless you put a box of ammo on top of it. At first it bugged me but now I'm glad they have such a powerful system. I'm sure it's way less lead than when I'm shooting outdoors especially with a DI rifle (AR15) which puts a nice blast of gas near my nose.

OP, I've found my 43 to be very accurate at combat distances. My ammo of choice is HST 150gr Micro. That stuff is super consistent in my 43. I've also tried it in my 19 and it's performed very well. I have found that I shoot the G27 more accurately than the G22 and very similarly but still better than the G23. If it works for you then that's all that matters.

Keep up the practice and carry on! :)

I'm thinking about trading/selling the G19 and picking up something different. It's just my nature. I really, really like the Glock 43 and Glock 22. The G19 is in no man's land. I carry the 43 and the 22 is the nightstand pistol and I like them for those duties. I keep the G19 as a downstairs HD gun adjacent to my recliner. Most anything I would trade it for would be fine in that capacity. Maybe I need to try .45 ACP.

Guns themselves are inherently very accurate. The humans operating them are the X factor.
I shoot my 30 and 21 with pretty much the same results, probably because the grip and trigger ergonomics are identical except the shorter grip on the 30.

I would get a 43, but I have never found a small pistol that I could shoot accurately enough to be comfortable with.
Others do shoot small pistols well.

OP - Funny how we all moderate our opinions and abilities as we age. For me, I've determined that the G43 is EXACTLY what I need for all duties ... plus I get to enjoy the familiarity of ONE gun in all circumstances.

Accuracy? I'm finding I can shoot the G43 on par with any other Glock in an IDPA match, so why not continue to CC the gun I compete with? Makes sense to me, plus less confusion regarding calibers, magazines, holsters, etc. At my age (67) my tendency is toward a more minimal approach to life and that includes my self defense weapon.

YMMV

There's also a 43 up for auction that I've shot twice. These are rentals up for auction and that 43 is why I purchased a 43. Wouldn't hurt to have another. Oh well, I'll probably end up with something different. I don't mind the capacity as I had been carrying a 5 shot 442, so having 6+1 seems o.k. to me. I also have a Hyve +2 that has ran without issue.

I have both, but never shot them together before.

I shoot my Glock 19G3 better than all my other semi auto pistols. I shoot my S&W Model 686 Plus revolver the best of all compared to all my handguns. It's no wonder why as I've put quite a few rounds down the range from both guns. Practice, practice, practice.

It could be the smaller frame and shorter trigger reach simply fits you better.
I shoot my 26 better than my 19 ( no real ergonomic difference to explain that)
But shoot my 42 better than either 9.
I can even say I shoot the glocks better than my 1911! ( the difference is small but there)
