Molybdenum Disufide. I've been using them and like them a lot. I'm using 17 gr of AA No. 9 to push 305 gr. hard cast through my 6" Model 629 and 7.5" Super Blackhawk at 1190 fps and 1250 fps respectively. Very satisfying and no signs of excess pressure. Half of the empties fall out when I open my 29 and shake it a little. Best of all I never see any lead left behind. One or two passes with a dry brush and the barrel looks perfect.

I seem to remember some here had concerns about that stuff. Any comments people may have, I'm interested.

Powered Molybdneum coated CAST bullets always looked beautiful but left black spider webs in the bore. Powder/tumble coated jacketed were better but unnecessary IMO. Coated cast bullets that contain a few percent of Molybdneum, in the coating (according to MSDS sheets) are much better IME.

My issue with moly is it does stay in the bore & unless cleaned well, accuracy with uncoated jacketed after was poor. This was with rifles. Honestly, moly is pretty much passe now in handgun bullets. Powder coated or HiTek coated will shoot cleaner & not leave residue behind. Also cleaner to load & can be easily done at home.

Bear Creek uses Moly as a component of their coated bullets and they have proven exceptionally accurate and clean in my guns.
