I have a 43x and a 48 and have successfully used both S15's (all 3 generations) and PSA micro dagger mags. S15's in the 43x and PSA in the 48. Both have operated flawlessly. But I will advise going with the PSA mags, for no other reason that you will continue to use the OEM poly mag catch/release which will allow you to continue to use your OEM mags. The S15's will require a steel mag catch. Not really an issue, but you cannot use OEM mags except in an emergency.

One thing about the PSA mags is that they don't come out of the box perfect. I found that I had to sand down the front lips as the poly on both my mags were frayed and I did have initial failures to chamber. After the sanding/filing there were no issues with the PSA mags. However, PSA seems to be perpetually out of stock. I want to buy two more and I've been waiting over a month and had put in a request for email notification.

I always carry a spare magazine. The added capacity is nice, but equally important is having another mag in case you have a malfunction. Despite the low probability of ever needing my CCW, let alone a backup mag, it’s not that inconvenient to carry an extra mag and it actually helps balance the weight on my belt.
You and I see this concept exactly the same. Exactly my mentality in all regards. Well said :)

Not really what you asked, so forgive me, but there’s always the Glock 19 or a 26 with 19, 17, etc. mag as a backup. Not a “modern” solution, but a tried-and-true one for sure. I’ve come really close to getting a 48 and wouldn’t begin to fault you for having one, but that .16” and handful of ounces just haven’t seemed worth the capacity/reliability dance around aftermarket mags or anything else. That being said, if I carried a 48 I’d run stock mags, would definitely get a PSA mag for the range, but I like to maintain Glock purity for carry.
