I don't know about cheapest. I had one. Don't remember the brand. Muzzle blast was too much for me and it went down the road.

I bought a Cugar pistol made in Romania years ago, thinking it was 400+, I don’t remember. I wanted to SBR it, never did, it’s in an old M60 spare barrel bag. Before I started contracting, covered in in grease, still GTG.

Im thinking you can find something for low 800…..

I don't think there is such a thing as a low cost AK pistol anymore. Back when they were available, the Zastava M92 and Draco's were the only real factory options out there. I bought a M92 back when they went on sale for $439 and SBR'd it. Now, they have more than doubled in price when you can find one. I have been very happy with it, but I did have to put a muzzle booster on it to get it to cycle 100%. It is VERY loud and shoots an amazing fireball at night. I am waiting for my suppressor stamp to be approved, which will make it much more pleasant to shoot.

 

M85 is probably the cheapest option and its VERY reliable. 556 if that matters.
