I suspect that it's not a rich agency, but more they are all going to guns with a reddots.Which organization is so rich they cycle new guns in so fast?

Who notes 20 years was not unusual. I guess revolvers are more reliable.
I bought a gen 4 police trade in G23 and picked it up a couple weeks back. I don't often buy used guns let alone a police trade in, but when I do, I start the gun off back to square one with a new set of wearables. I tore that G23 down and while it was pretty dirty, everything appeared to be new internally. Dirty gun, clean springs. I changed everything anyway for peace of mind, but kept all the parts. My former agency keeps Glock about 7-8 years. Apparently, Glock recommends changing all the springs every XXXX rounds and tritium is only "guaranteed" for 10. Someone did the math and determined it was only a little more than $100 more to trade up. Less time and headache, too, as they did it at qual day. You handed them your old gun, received your new gun and signed the appropriate papers for documentation.
