Worth it? Never had a Ruger, would be first .380 as well.
Would likely go straight into the safe, but the thought of a gym short gun for gas station trips or for my fiancee to carry in purse is appealing.

Basically, is it a buy at $160? I think for that price it is hard to turn down. Any known issues with the universally finicky .380 round? Who here recommends one?

I have had mine in use since 2012. I'll bet I recommend it to someone monthly (probably 15 friends have bought one). Just had a buddy buy his last Friday, after I sang it's praises to him. I really think it's a gun everyone should have available in their arsenal! Nothing quite like it! With the extended mag you've got 8 rounds in a small package.
Certainly not a range gun, and I didn't get it for that!

I've had a 1st gen LCP since they first came out in 2008. Mine has been totally reliable and very easy to carry. It's not a fun range pistol, but it was never intended to be. It's just a good little gun to have around for when you can't carry something else. For pocket carry, I am actually more comfortable with the longer trigger on the original LCP than the shorter trigger on the LCP II.

I've got three of them, two are Gen 2s and the other one is a Gen 1. Personally, I like the LCPs built in Prescott, AZ, and not just because I live in AZ, but because they feel better and the quality seems better as well. With some practice, they will definitely take out a COM target from 10 yards, and that's what they are made to do.

They’re awesome little guns. I bought a Kel-tec p3at a few years before the ruger came out (it’s honestly been a great carry gun as well) but had to get in on the LCP when they dropped. I probably would have bought another at that price. My LGS is under new management and they have gotten pretty wild with their pricing. I can still transfer for $25 and the $10 background check. So it would have been cheaper, for me, to order one from palmetto. I’ve shot mine enough to trust it. Like most say, they’re not range guns but they make a perfect summer carry.

I own two original LCP's and often carry one in my pocket during summer. $160 for one is a very dood deal.

As far as the company goes, Ruger is a good American company that really stands behind their products without any written warranty. If there is any problem with your Ruger gun, they either send you new parts, fix the gun or replace the whole gun for free. At least that has always been my experience with Ruger customer service when I dealt with them.
