Yea a Kimber DASA jazzed up.

Now folks, are Kimber KS6 revolvers that good? Do they hold up under lots of .357s?

Now this would make a great BBQ gun... Not crazy about the ..

on the other side but... at Gonzales they did have that flag!

$1400 bucks seems quite a bit..

So what do you guys think?

The standard model is around a grand so it comes down to if 400 extra is worth it.

When I handed the K6 at the shop the cylinder wiggled slightly when cocked and trigger pulled. No end shake just the cylinder wobbled just a bit. When you guys say they 'lock tight' shouldn't the cylinder not move at all?

I have a S&W 66-1 snub and it is zero-zero.. cock it and pull the trigger and the cylinder just does not move at all.

I have Ruger, S&W, Colt, and Taurus revolvers. Most of the people pushing you towards Ruger or Smith probably do not have much if any experience with Kimber.

For a small steel frame carry Jframe like revolvers, Kimber beats out the Ruger SP101 period. Both the Colt King Cobra and Kimber K6S have nice triggers, but the K6S has the better sights.

S&W doesn't make a small 6 shot revolver and has the Hillary Hole. The only S&W revolver that I'd put up against the K6S is the S&W 640 Pro, but it's still only 5 shots.

With all that said, I wouldn't spend $1400 for that particular model. I'd just get the base model if it were me.

I've considered the 2" K6. Seems a well made product and the one I dry fired had a GREAT DA trigger pull.

If you want one engraved (much better than that laser engraved job anyway), go to Gunbroker and search "K6 Engraved". Altamont is selling around 15 of them in some interesting patterns imo.

Just my $.02.

I own all of the above and strongly disagree. Each brand and model of revolver has it's own strengths and weaknesses. Cast, MIM, or Forged, Ruger and S&W revolvers have proven to stand up to the test of time and hard usage by for more people than the K6s. MIM parts for not stress components is a non issue. For a firing pin or such, yes, I can see the concern, but for triggers and the like, it's not a concern. I have not herd of an epidemic of S&W hammers and triggers breaking... They all work just as well except one adds more cost.

The K6s trigger reminds me of the trigger on my S&W Model 60, 640 Pro, and my Taurus M85 with a sping kit in it. Both the K6s, S&W Jframes, small Taurus revolvers have coil main springs.

My Colt King Cobra seems like it has the best trigger of them all. My S&W L frames come in next. Ruger comes in last. The Colts and L frames on up have leaf main springs.
