Yeah, I'm not big on subcompacts, quite honestly. However, its a very nice pistol.

 

regarding HK offering :HKP30L 9mm was my example in the thread of guns I don't like. The grips were great ,the recoil was soft and that was about it.The DA was long , the reset was long, the accuracy was mediocre at best and multiple failing to cycle 9mm even with 124 grain.
HK45 and HK45CT a total different story, they are some of the most comfortable accurate and reliable polymer guns that I have.

 

Were you able to dry fire?
How was the trigger pull and more importantly the reset?

 

Gino, I didn't dry fire them, unfortunately. I would assume the VP40's trigger to be that of the VP9. I did feel the initial weight of the DA pull on the P30SK and thought it to be similar to that of my P30.

 

The gun looks like it would absolutely melt into my hand (I like my VP9 and how it fits and feels). The big issue for me is where it fits in terms of guns and their purpose. I just don't need or really value a gun slightly larger than a G26 and smaller than a G19.

I will withhold final judgement until I see one in person. It is a gun I would really like to want/buy, but I am not sure it will outpace other toys on the wish list at the end of the day!

I do like H&K's recent direction, though.

 

VP40? I didn't even know those were out, but I saw CDNN had the P30SK for $588 last week or so. I just can't get excited over either one, but if they release a VP45, VP9K, or VP9SK then I'll probably be looking to get my first HK.

 

I'm sure there will be smaller VP models in the future.

 

I like my VP9 and I'm a .40 fan, but just don't find myself shooting .40 as much as I used to. Really the main thing holding me back on anymore HK's, especially the VP, is the mags are as hard to find as unicorns and cost as much as one too. I'm glad to see HK starting to put out quality guns at a more affordable price range. They need to cut loose on the magazine production and get their mags into the same price range and availability as Glock.

I too like the fact HK is offering more affordable pistols. They pretty much have to, to survive today, IMO. There's just too much competition to warrant a $900 plastic gun these days.

Right? haha. They weren't exactly the best price. I bought them for $45 a piece. Best I've seen were around $34-$35 a piece.

HK had lowered their prices quite a bit on some pistol models. The P2000SK's prices had also been dropped down to the $600 range, albeit high $600.

 

Locally, the P2000sks are selling for $625. That's why I bought one 2 months ago...

 

I know it won't happen but I'd sure like to see them support 357SIG again. A P30SK or smaller VP in 357SIG would be awesome.

 

I guess there really isn't enough market for them, when you consider how easily it would be to add them to the lineup, yet they don't.

HK lowering prices because their military contracts all over the world have gone tango up. Though, rather like Colt during the 1990s, they still don't "get it".

HK refuses to sell a semiauto version of the G36 (no, I'm not counting the SL8) because they're "sensitive" about school shootings in the USA.

We shall see when the creditors are knocking on HK's doors.

Yeah, the P30 is awesome.

 

Which is why they don't sell any semi-auto rifles like the 416.

I got my HK P30SK for $585 out the door off Gunbroker, great price IMO. Granted, had to pay my FFL $20 to pick up so just over $600 (if my math is correct ) for a solid gun. Though I have yet to shoot mine

 

Id like to see a VP9 single stack subcompact.

 

That would be cool, though I'm sure the name would change going to a single stack.

 

Put a P30SKS on layaway today. Couldn't resit temptation any longer or wait for a VP9SK.

 

I just can't dig hks, seems they engineer a good gun up to the trigger, then say screw it and put a crap unit in at a four digit price tag.

 

You must not have ever tried the trigger on the VP9. It's awesome. And the price is about the same as a GLOCK.

 

I want to see a p30sk, but no one here can keep them in stock yet
