I've had regular Shields and non-flush 8rnd mags are no problem. But this Shield Plus 13rnd mag is a different animal. It certainly isn't as easy as the manual implies. I even called S&W and they don't have a clue. Anybody know?

@Crane1 - see the following thread:
Shield Plus Magazine Disassembly (smith-wessonforum.com)

Post #10:

The floor plate is held in place by an interference fit (reference Figure 82, page 37, of the Safety and Instruction manual). It's difficult to slide off the 1st time as described in the manual, by gripping the floor plate and pulling (ref Figure 72, page 35). I used a thin flat blade screw driver, placing the blade in the gap between the Floor Plate and Grip Spacer/Adapter (reference Figure 74, page 36) and GENTLY Pried the Floor Plate loose. Once the Floor Plate is loose, keep your thumb on the Floor Plate Catch (to prevent the spring from flying out) and slide the Floor Plate catch off the magazine.

Hope this helps. :)

Let's step back a second.
Why are you taking apart this magazine?
Magazine maintenance would be my guess. If I take the slide off of a gun to clean it I also disassemble the magazine to clean and inspect it as well.

But that's just me, and the O.P. is not a nice guy so...

Anyway, you do you boo...
