I clean my G27 with gun blaster and a brush then rem oil the spots the manual says to lube. Wipe the outside, insert in holster, good to go.

I usually just fill the little straw that comes with the aerosol cans and then drop a spot of oil on every spot indicated in the model, sometimes wiping up some of the excess.

I switched to ballistol since I'm a Hickok45 fanboi, but I sure miss that gun oil smell.

3-4 small drops, one each in the correct locations, are all you need.

Vey, very little....just a drop on the specified points, wiped off....

When I get peoples' Glock pistols to work on, one of the most common things I see is that they really slather the oil on the slide, where it eventually finds it's way into the firing pin channel and all the other little nooks and crannies...there it bonds to all the unburned powder, dirt, and carbon that you find around the breech of any firearm, and turns to a sludgy sort of concrete. It is not uncommon for the firing pin safety button to be almost frozen, and for the fp itself to have a coating of crud....

If you look at the little holes on the underside of the slide and the breech face, you will notice that it does not say " O I L here" next to any of them.......

Light on the oil, they are great pistols, and they like it a little dry.

As to what brand of oil....well there a lot of good ones out there. I am using CLP mostly, becuase somebody else is paying for it, but Hoppes, Rem-oil, and all the others work just as well.

This opinion varies from person to person about how much or how little they lubricate their glock, and what kind of lube and cleaning processes they use.

While the opinions vary from person to person, the good folks at Glock are pretty specific. 4 drops in 4 spots, of any decent quality gun oil, and that is it. No grease. IME over-lubing has caused far more problems than under-lubing.

Break Free CLP (mostly) very lightly applied to the specified spots. I use metal recoil guide rods in all my Glocks so these get a bit of oil too.

Cleaning is done with Hoppe's solvents, lots of patches, a brush and rod. Gun Scrubber will flush out the gunk and oils from the interior so no major detail stripping is necessary.

SHEEEEEEEEESH. Some ballistol emptied itself on my bedroom floor, man that stuff stinks really really bad, and for about a month I could smell it. I'd never use/buy/touch that stuff again.

Whatever oil is closest to me. Rem oil or outers or something. I put it on the contact points like the manual says. Even light oiling seems to be too much sometimes.

In memory of WalterGA, just a few drops of Mobil 1.:tongueout:
