I have a Glock 35, and eight 15 round .40 S&W factory magazines, that I am planning to use for USPSA Limited and Limited 10. I will be ordering Arredondo +5 magazine extentions to take some of them up to 20 rounds for Limited. How many 15 round stock magazines will I need for Limited 10, and how many will I have to convert to 20 rounds to compete in Limited.

I have a Comp-Tac belt holster, 4 mag pouches and an instructor belt and have worked up major PF handloads. The mags are the last element left, other than the skill... Thanks.

sounds like you're in good shape. Three mag extensions would be a minimum and four will get you by just fine. Personally I carry 4 extended plus one in the gun at the start beep for a total of 5.

For limited 10 I would have all four pouches filled and one in the gun and you should be fine for most stages. I usually keep an extra (fifth) mag on my belt around back for topping off my gun and extra rounds in case of emergency.

I have arredondo's also and they are an excellent product, you won't be disappointed. Good luck.

ETA: You will find a ton of useful info here http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php if you haven't already found it on your own.

As the above poster, I carry 4 + 1 in the gun for Limited and 5 + 1 for Limited 10. While it may sound like a lot, many things can happen. You can drop a mag on the reload, a mag can fall off in a sprint, and <gasp> a jam. :wow:

Also, you might want to check out the Dawson base pads. Very easy on and off.

ETA: You may also want to consider having a few non externded mags on hand even for limited. For the speed shoots where capacity isn't required (El Prez, etc.), I find it easier to reload quickly with the shorter mag.

Agreed. I run 3+1 in the gun. If 80 rounds doesn't solve my problem, an extra 20 probably won't either...<g>

I started with 4 +5 extensions and now have 10 (hate reloading mags at the match).

I use 3 at +19 on the belt, one loader to +1 in the gun and another 19 round mag to start with 20 in the gun. Two months ago I had the front Red Fiber Optic sight start coming off in the middle of a 36 round field course with lots of steel including a Pepper Popper started Swinger at the end of the stage. The FO sight made its exit at the middle of the stage. It took all mags including almost all of the loader to get all down and shot in a time of 70 seconds. Way better than DNF. I do not like to post a DNF score. More is better when you can carry it. Some of the steel took 3-5 rounds each with NO front sight.

it really depends on the stage.
is it comstock or not?
if its comstock and you want to take the extra shots, then you need more capacity.

i use 5 mags (4 on belt one in gun). I use a G17 though so im at a disadvantage. i just shoot for fun anyway.

have fun!! you'll love USPSA.
