Ok. A pesky female breaking in... be kind I am a newcomer.
Is a hard belt really important for Inisde carry and will these belts fit women's pant belt loops? I admit I hate belts but I can see I will have to get used to one. I just hate that hard wide leather that won't give or wrap around you. Is there a clip or device that you can adapt to wear a holster inside just clipped to your jeans? Just wondering.... oh and would this option be safe enough for all day wear?

Depending on your shape (how much difference there is between your waist and hips, you might benefit from a contoured belt or just find IWB doesn't really work for you.

You also need to figure out how concealed you need to carry. i.e. If you need to be able to tuck in your shirt and not wear some kind of cover garment, I highly recommend v-clips, but that requires a velcro lined belt.

Where do you find Velcro lined belts and v-clips. I'm willing to try them. I'm pretty much on casual wear most of the time so I can wear my tees and blouses out. Thank you for your reply. I will search clips and belts.

Side clip and 1# loaded weight IWB..... 1" wide gun max, 4oclock, for righties. Thank you!!!

Remember how huge the gun belts use to be for Roy, Gene, Ranger, Matt, John and the rest of the fifties Westerns. Take a lesson. The heavier the gun the heavier the leather.

I know thebeltman and comp-tac both produce velcro lined belts, and comp-tac does contoured ones. Comp-tac makes several tuckable holsters and v-clips, but I've been less happy with their products in recent years. To me, it seems they've been focusing more on "looks cool" than comfort and utility. Their v-clips, for example, have evolved from just a hook shape made from nylon-plastic with a strip of velcro heavy duty stapled on to a hook shape made from nylon with a thick head bonded to the outside/top of the hook and heavy duty velcro glued to the head. This makes the clips thicker and less durable. They look much fancier though. I have one set of the new length that they custom made for me...and have been considering contacting them to see about having several more sets customized. I really don't like their current version.

I carry a shoulder holster quite a bit. I have several Galco Miami Classics, a homemade copy of a Miami Classic and a Bianchi copy of a Miami Classic, for various guns. I like it, because it does not need to be tied down or connected to anything; just put it over your shoulders and go. I have one on at some point nearly every day.

If you carry a purse, there are also plenty of those made for carrying guns. Fanny packs, etc.

But then there are all the negatives of "off-body" carry. Her purse is a target for thieves...if they get her "carry purse", they get her gun too. If it's in the purse, she really can't put the purse down and leave it anywhere unattended where someone or some child might get to the gun in it. If skirts or dresses are the norm, there are inside thigh holsters. Probably not the fastest to draw from, but I bet they conceal easily.

You can get the purses with a strap that can be carried across your body, so they are pretty secure.

I carry at 2 O'Clock. It keeps things hidden well and follows my contours. It also keep the muzzle from pointing at me when sitting.
Try here for a belt. https://www.hanksbelts.com/collections/leather-gun-belts
They come highly recommended, but I don't have first hand experience. Like I said before, I prefer a self supporting holster because I don't like the weight on my pants. No pain or the like. I just don't care for it.

There are real gun belts that are
1.25“ wide for smaller belt loops.
There are also contoured belts that have a preformed curve. I know that Galco makes some and I'm certain other manufacturers do, as well.
I have a velcro lined belt and V clips from Crossbreed. That sucker is thick and stiff, but it's also about 8 years old. Perhaps there is a new design. I haven't used the velcro setup much, but it functioned well.

True.. I do have a purse but let's be honest, women (especially grannies) carry a lot of crap in their purses. Lol by the time I unzip and weed through junk or press around to make room for my hand to reach the tight conceal area, I'm a goner. So far the belly band has worked but man is it hot!
