Obviously you have your opinion. But it is just an opinion as you lack the experience with the pistol first hand. Thank you for your service, but you should've been able to diagnose your neighbor's extractor problem pretty quickly - it's not rocket science to those with real experience in these matters.

I've read plenty of reviews and I've read forum comments. Seems like forum comments are fouled by a few (doo-doo in the punch bowl effect) whereas reviews are generally positive. Seems like the negative on this forum comes from the same individuals repeatedly.

I think the main problem with some folks is that they can't wrap their head around the utility of a $200 9mm pistol. Either that or the CEO of SCCY ran over their puppy with his Lambo..
Do you think the Earth is flat too?

The SCCY company has been serving up garbage since inception. You start a thread asking for opinions and then dismiss them all. Most shops around me won’t even stock them. That’s how bad they are. They’re one of the worst pistols on today’s market. It’s a shame you didn’t ask before buying.

Not something to trust your life or the lives of your family to.

You are clearly either a shill or a homer with no idea what you are talking about. Be gone.

First off, you are just some guy on a forum- your thanks have no bearing on my service.
Furthermore, YOU set the playing field here which was DEMANDING that people with hands-on experience only reply to your question. You furthered this position by having the audacity to attempt to chastise another member who expressed an opinion about your son's firearm that you didn't like.
YOU are not an authority regarding this forum-in 20 years of membership you've only bothered to participate 700-odd times. Pretty paltry interaction.
You already have your opinion of your son's pistol- what were you looking for here? Had you bothered to do a search here, you would have learned that the SCCY brand is held in almost total disdain by the members here
But no, you chose to post a query, and then argue with the answers you got. Pretty lame behavior. What was your purpose? Stirring up an argument?
Well, you'll not get an argument from anyone here. Your son's pistol- if it is truly your son's and not yours, and you're afraid to admit to owning it- is a junk-level firearm. Argue and refute statements all you want but it doesn't change anything.
You state that I don't have first-hand experience with the weapon, but you choose not to recognize- or you don't understand- that when a gunsmith works on a firearm, they also operate and test that firearm. If YOU are so knowledgeable about firearms, why are you asking the opinions of others here? You seem to need others' affirmation, but you portray yourself (falsely) as so knowledgeable that you will argue with everybody's opinion- which is what you asked for initially. But you want to make erroneous statements about MY and others' interactions with SCCY pistols to rationalize your position.
This makes me think that either you are just trying to start a fight, or it's not your "son" but you who owns this pistol and you're too embarrassed to admit it, and your pride won't let you accept what others are saying as direct responses to your questions.
You can sidetrack the conversation all you want- I and others care not one bit. However, quit your nonsense about putting words into other peoples' mouths. I never said anything about an extractor problem because that was not one of the issues with my neighbor's pistol. You can jump to conclusions all you want but it doesn't change the fact that people here know that the SCCY pistols are bottom -of- the- barrel.
Your post reminds me of the old adage-
Don't confuse me with facts, my mind's made up.
On that note, your final post is nothing more than the efforts of a troll to agitate people trying to participate in conversation. You, again, have the audacity to make a nasty statement, but you don't engage in the back-and-forth of conversation and debate. It appears as if your only purpose is to cause problems.
NOBODY cares what you spend your money buying- if you want a SCCY, buy it. But don't think for one minute that your insults and misrepresentations will convince anyone that you want a legitimate dialogue.
Time for this thread to end.
You get the ignore button.

You are the only person who read the whole thing... I clicked on it, but I just couldn't.

I had a chance to play with one extensively (my son's ) and I'm pondering getting my own in some wild color scheme. I'm wondering if others have racked up some experience with the DVG-1. The discussion might help others pondering a low-cost concealable pistol.

Here is my experience
I’d tell your son to sell his and avoid buying one yourself

You state that I don't have first-hand experience with the weapon,
You obviously don't.
And your reading comprehension could use some work.
Since you didn't have first-hand experience, why did you feel the need to post your unsubstantiated opinion? Just move on to a thread where you can make a meaningful contribution.

Thank you for using the ignore feature - it cleans up the thread.

Well, I've got some experience with one. I had one of the ones without the safety, and a red dot sight. I got it because (1) it had a red dot, and (2) it was cheap (used).

I will say it worked. Fairly well actually. I got to try out a red dot sight pretty cheap just to see if I liked it. I really don't recall the gun ever actually malfunctioning, but I'd rate it as probably the worst gun I've ever owned. There was nothing in particular that was "wrong" with it, it just felt cheap...because it was actually I suppose. The only specific "problem" I remember was a failure to lock the slide back after the last round, and that was traced down to being one particular magazine, and I was able to fix that myself. I forget now what I actually did to fix it though. I only put a couple hundred rounds through it, mostly FMJ but a few HP of one kind or the other. It functioned with them all. I was able to stay on the target at 5-7 yards in spite of the trigger which was as everyone else said, long and heavy. Pretty stiff recoil, but it's a small, light gun. I suppose that's to be expected. The red dot, worked just fine. That I was impressed enough with to buy a nicer gun later with a dot sight. I later traded it back in on some other gun at the same shop where I'd purchased it. Got more for it than I expected really.

Would I recomend one? Only if you wanted one for grins and giggles like I did. I never considered it as a carry gun. I suppose if someone had to have the least expensive gun they could find, one would do the job, but don't let anyone fool you and tell you it's "Just as good as...."

I went to OPs blog spot and there it was, his review of the SCCY. Someone is just trying to drum up traffic. Seems there are better ways than acting like a jerk, but he did get me to look, once. As an aside, in his review he refers to KelTec and Diamondback as “gold standard “ of carry pistols. That pretty much tells me all I need to know about this guy.

My lone experience with one was pure fail. I actually think they look like a nice gun..as far as aesthetics go..so I wanted to like it..also liked when they came out their size..So a friend that had bought 2 brought them NIB never shot not even cleaned to the range...plan was he bought them 1 for him 1 for wife....wife immediately hated it didnt fit her hands well.. so when i hear that I volunteered to take it off his hands if i liked it.. took it to the range and we opened the box..read the manual quick cleaned them and proceeded to shoot..His shot..kinda....mine couldnt get through a mag without choking..after about 65 or 70 rounds each I just gave up we put mine away(after recleaning/reassembly just to be sure...) we shot the rest of the 2nd box through his near the end he had a few issues also with slide and some feeding...we went back he said while laughing ..so I assume you didnt want to buy it...I was like..nah...I have never in my life had a gun that needed customer service im not going to get one that will and I KNOW it will lol.

We were cleaning them again and upon inspection his looked like th was trying to eat its slide you could see some damage at the rear part of it and it was doing something ive never seen it was almost over extending and getting hung up on some part of the rails or rear of frame..dont know he sent his wifes/one he was going to sell to me asked for a refund and his he ended up getting back i think he still has it. Not sure though as a few years back he moved to NC from PA..

Until it doesn’t. I would never trust my life or my families life to something with a notoriously bad track record. ESP with so many affordable better options out.
Thats just it with so many good inexpensive options out there new and used why would you bother. I own Taurus ive had in the past a PT99 (adjustable sights version of the 92 and knock off of the Beretta 92) it was great when I needed/wanted a CC gun I traded that on a Colt Mustang II and tossed in $25.... I have a TCP .380 works great no issues thats my pocket carry....also have a .38 snubby CH85 same deal..just no issues so its not like I dont have a few cheaper guns..I just watch what I get..right now id take a new(er) or nice used PT 92/99 Taurus if i came across one for a good price..

I dont even look at SCCY

Junk. Worst trigger I've ever experienced.

Pure garbage.
