The data from
I have used 14.0 of AA9 with CCI 350 for years in 10mm with 200gr as trail load.
Notice Hornady Manual is 13.2 of AA9 that’s weak !
But what does your brass look like? Using past Hornady max data, #10 book, no issues with my brass in stock bbls..

Never use stock barrels in my Glocks always KKM
Brass at 1250 FPS with 200 perfect ! I am on my 3rd loading and pockets still tight …not as tight as new I might add same with 220 at 1200

So the Hornady data isnt weak but probably within stock bbl specs.

So they Hornady went from 8.4 to 7.3 grains of Longshot in less than 5 years with 200 XTP. Has nothing to do with barrel specs.
My #9 says 7.3, as does #7, Dellta 10 pistol. So not sure when it was higher? Current hogdon site says 8.2. I’ve done 8.3 with 195gr lwnfp coated without any visible stress on the brass, pockets tight, no smily face.
Obviously the bbl plays into ot or you wouldnt spend $$ on a kkm To run hot loads?

KKM is for better case support !
8.8 of Longshot is safe max with 200gr
8.6 with 220 (favorite here in Alaska)
With KkM barrel and 22 pound spring
Used 8.6 for years with 200 gr
Ran these thru cronograph years ago good 700 FPE loads .
14.0 of AA9 with 200gr another excellent load of 700 FPE

Following the conversation, I thought just for kicks I'd see what my old Hornady manual (Vol. 2 circa 1973) says.

It pre-dates 10 mm ... nothing listed!

Safe in kkm bbl, yes. You said bbl specs have nothing to do with it but that is just incorrect. If your brass gets a guppy its over loaded in your bbl.

A call to Hornady might give you some insight. Hornady does change their bullet designs from time to time and the .451" XTP has changed.
True, bearing surface dictates pressure diff within the same wt.
