Holosun 507c vs 507k

I am considering having a slide milled on a compact .45 acp for a new Holosun. I currently have a 507k on my P365, and am debating whether to go with a 507c or 507k on the compact. The c has the larger window, but the k would allow me to use an optic that is already familiar and with a window centerline that sits lower to bore. For those that have used both, does the larger window on the 507c provide a significant advantage in real, practical usage? Conversely, is there any real world advantage to the 507k dot sitting slightly lower than the c?

Thanks for your response. I know the k is designed for slimline and the c for double stacks, but it is possible to have a larger pistol milled for the k; in fact, the usual recommended milling providers offer it as a standard option. I am just trying to figure out if the larger optic field of view in the c is worth the tradeoff of visual familiarity and redundancy of the k. I don't have access to a handgun mounted with a c in order to make a comparison, so thought I would seek the opinion of those here who have used both.

There’s not a huge difference, and if you’re not staring at the dot you won’t much notice the bigger window.

I have 507c’s on my 19’s (personal and work). One is milled and one MOS. Don’t notice much difference when actually using the gun on drills, etc with “height” of the optic like people talk about.

My Glock 26 is milled for a 507k. I chose it for a slightly smaller size when carrying and I wanted the optic to be flush and not hang over the edge of the slide. It’s just slightly thinner than the width of the 9mm Glock slide

the extra width of the 45 might not matter with the 507c though and it might be flush.

Thanks - I appreciate your perspective. It is interesting that the optic height doesn’t really make much difference, and also interesting that you are using the 507k successfully on your Glock 26. It sounds like either approach is viable and you don’t have a strong preference between the two. Am I reading that correctly?

You should compare the width of both optics to the width of your pistol’s slide. The larger C model might overhang the sides of the slide, and the K might fit better.

I have pistols with K models, and with C models. When using, I do t notice a difference.
