Hey all, im looking for an option for higher capacity magazines for a spare carry mag for my glock 43. I have a few +2 extensions but was wondering if they make basepads that are +3 or more. I tried ETS 12 rd mags and they were garbage (pics included of malfunctions, the feed lips are very flimsy).

Just get a P365.

While you're busy adding stuff which increases the size of the gun (and potentially affects reliability, the stock P365 holds 10 +1. Sig make 12 and 15 round mags if you insist on increasing the size of a pocket carry.
If i had the cash for a p365, i wouldn't have a glock 43. Don't the earlier versions have lots of issues?

FAB Defense makes a +4 extension for the G43 (and for the G42). But be aware that single stack (or almost single stack) magazines for 9mm Luger cartridges are more prone to feeding problems as the magazine tube becomes longer with a larger extension (e.g., +3 or +4, as opposed to +1) because of the smaller diameter of the case mouth relative to the case rim. (See the pics below.)

[Edit]
As a matter of fact, FAB+4 is the only mag extension that has ever failed to feed HTS and Gold Dot when I tested it with both of my super reliable G43s, which have been working flawlessly with all other popular mag extensions I have (i.e., MagGuts+1 and +2, Pearce+1, and TTI +1 and +2) whether shooting JHPs or FMJ.

FTFeed with FAB+4 typically occurred once in every magazine or about 10%. Some may think 90% success rate with the FAB+4 is “good enough” for them. But I cannot rely on a magazine extension that I know fails to feed my carry ammo that often.

The FAB Defense 4 round Base Plate Extension works great on my G 43 Magazine with no Issues. I bought one from my LGD and although I did have some minor problems installing it onto my Mag but once I got it on, I was very pleased with the results at the Range. No problems at all because the extension has it's own spring which works with the G 43 mag spring and this makes a very great function. I use it at the range or as a spare mag which gives me a 10 + 1 Mag!

I guess ETS might be hit or miss? I have two of the ETS 12 mags that have given me zero malfunctions. My only complaint about them is they will not load 12 rounds. When I get 11 rounds in they feel odd, but work. So, for consistancy I load them with 10 rounds.

I got a 12 round for my 43. I only loaded 10 and after the 2nd or 3rd shot, it jammed. I put another 100 through it and it never had another problem. It has me kinda skittish, though. I planned on using this mag for competition, but I'm not sure now.

My opinion: the G43 is a 6+1 gun.

Period.

Yes, mag extensions and spring gizmos work for some, but not all. Some people test with round nose range ammo and think they’re good-to-go. In reality adequate testing would have them use actual carry ammo in sufficient quantities to insure function.

My G43 chokes with mag extensions and ETS mags. Your mileage may vary.

I bought a P365; works great.

I most likely got a bad mag. Phoned ETS and they said the spring geometry and length was changed to be shorter. The change was made and never announced for recall so i have a 1st gen mag. If you decide to get one, order directly from ETS.

You can get the Sig with a 10 round, if this is the main need in a carry gun. I really don't care about round count in my carry gun, as I feel a 6 round magazine is just fine for me! I'm Old School and was trained on and carried a S&W Revolver as my Duty Gun for over 10 years, so I feel perfectly fine with my G 43 which is my EDC. I feel so confident with my G 43 that I have never carried a spare Magazine but I can understand some people just don't think 6 rounds will be OK for them, so there is a 4 round extension which I purchased for my G 43 and it holds 4 extra mags and I use this 10 + 1 round when I go to the range once a week. This Extension has it's own spring in the base plate and works with the spring of the G 43 Magazine. So you now have a 4 round extension that feels great in your hand and you can fire off 11 rounds at the Range. The maker is "FAB DEFENSE" and it works flawless in my gun and not expensive!

I experimented with extensions. I had a few issues and went back to OEM. I even found that I prefer flush mags as my pinky tucks like it was made for my hand.

I carry 1 spare with everything. I have been known to carry another in the pocket if going longer/further from home.

If capacity was the number one priority for me and I wanted to stay Glock? I'd buy a 43X or a 48. Adding that many rounds to a regular 43 makes it just as long and with less reliability.
