High ride or Low ride

I really prefer a low ride IWB holster over the traditional high ride IWB holster. The closer the grip is to the belt the easier it is for me to conceal the firearm. It seems to me that most holster makers tend to only make high or mid ride heights. What is your preference on ride height?

For IWB, I like the belt to be in line with the trigger/trigger guard. Only time I carry OWB is in the woods. Hunting I like the gun low, like cowboy holster low so it doesn’t interfere with the backpack hip belt. If just chilling at the cabin, then mid to low, low enough that most of the gun’s weight is below the belt, otherwise it wants to flop over.

Maybe, holster dependent.

I want a access to a full grip, whatever you call that.

From a mechanical standpoint, I think a lower holster position favors most people. That's why it's restricted in competition rules.

For OWB, I get my fingers on the front strap a bit sooner than with IWB. Specifically with AIWB, I initiate the withdrawal process at the web of my thumb, and the gun pivots around that point initially.

So in theory, I could position the gun a bit lower for AIWB. But I like to be able to get my thumb behind the grip pretty early.

Mid.
Concealment is a good thing but if you ever need to draw that pistol out 1.75 seconds ago, being able to get a good grip for a reasonably proper presentation is better.
