Have you ever use the Original Rubber Band on your pistol grip ?

Some pistol brands ship pistols with a 3/4" wide Rubber (or Silicone) Band on the grip, perhaps with the Brand name imprinted on the side of the rubber band.

I thought it's part of the packaging presentation. Sig Sauer that I bought had a paper band around the grip. But some brands have a thick Rubber band (about .08" thick when normal rubber bands are around .03") on the grip. I had put them aside.

Recently, I put the rubber band on the lower grip with pinky finger wrap around it and my hold of the gun became a LOT more stable, not a firm grip but a solidly held gun, shooting much more accurately.

Is this what it's for ????? And I missed its purpose all along ???? Feel like an idiot that I had missed this.

I use the same rubber band with other guns, 9mm and 10mm, and to my surprise, it made my grip a lot more comfortable and solid.

Do you have such Rubber Band shipped with your pistol ? Have you used it ?
Where can I buy some more ?

The size of it is 2.75" long as you lay it flat, 3/4" wide, and 80 mils thick.

I've seen many people put rubber sleeves, rubber tape, skateboard tape, etc. I never heard of the rubber band you refer to being used for grip.
Of course, I never needed an enhanced grip surface so I don't pay much attention.

Never got one on a pistol, but I use rubber Talon grips on my pre gen 4 glocks. I have a Hogue Hand All on my sf frame glock 20 and 21 to give my hand more purchase. I should have gotten the large grip guns but the Hogue gives me more leverage and grip.

I remember, way back when, a few people used a section of bicycle inner-tube slipped over the grip. I tried it, but it never stayed......just one of those things that never worked out very well for me.

No to the rubber band. I added two thickness of bicycle inner tube to my P3AT to take a bit of sting when shooting it.

Which look are you going after, ghetto or hillbilly?

I think in the east they have these bright pimp colored clear tapes they swath their AK's in, called Paki tape...all the rage for AK47's

same here even the slip on Hogues ended up slipping down on my gun hitting the magazine pushing it down not letting it seat right and caused MULTIPLE malfunctions...took me a while to figure it out...when I did took it off never another issue...
