I just found another option, for those of us (like me) who are on a "fixed income" or very tight budget. When I need a chest rig, I normally carry in a Hill People Gear chest pouch, which is very nice, and it has the added bonus of keeping the gun concealed, which is required for me sometimes. I have permission letters to carry on US Army Corps Of Engineers land in 2 districts, but the gun must be concealed. If I am on a WMA or National Forest land, it does not have to be concealed, and I prefer the much faster access of not having to unzip a pouch to get to my gun.

If I had more disposable income, I would definitely get a Kenai rig, as the good quality is known. I am thinking of trying one of these instead, because it is vastly less expensive:

I just wonder how the design and quality compare to the Kenai, though.
I'd be really surprised if there was more than $20 in materials in the Kenai rig. It's only Kydex and nylon webbing. I would think the less expensive rigs would be much the same. My biggest concern would be the retention. If the less expensive rigs won't let you loose you gun you're gtg.

I agree. That one has adjustable retention, and very positive fleabay customer feedback. I'd like to see an objective review on it, because $90 is still a good bit of money, even though it beats the hell out of $150, for what may be a very similar product.

I have a newer black GI M7 tanker holster and it fits a G17 fine, the strap snaps just right.

You can also stretch the M7 holster to fit larger frame. Mine now fit Glock 40 (10mm). I (test) wore it inside the house and when I wen to sleep, no issue. I can position the holster more in front or on the side as needed. Cost me less than $30.

I've the Galco for my Ruger Alaskan and the Gunfighter's Inc. for my SBH .44 mag.. I prefer leather over Kydex but the Kydex one works just fine it's just a bit noisy coming out and going back in. That may or may not be an issue for some.

I just received mine today, and am extremely pleased. The seller was very responsive to questions. He was out of stock of one for my G20, so I emailed him and asked when he might have one in stock, or if he kept limited inventory and produced upon request. He said that ebay only allows him to list so many items at once, and that he would list one in a few minutes, which he did. I snatched it up, and he sent it out immediately. I got it 2 days later (with free shipping), and couldn't be happier. The design and build quality are excellent. The retention is great, as well as being adjustable. There are lots of holsters on ebay similar to this one, but few of them have retention adjustment screws, like this one.

Chest holster

Wearing it, it is comfortable and very secure. It doesn't shift around excessively when drawing. And there is plenty of adjustability in the straps, so you can easily adjust the "ride height", and side-to-side location of the holster body.

And, for $60, you can order another holster body for a different gun, and just swap the straps from one to another, saving about $30 over having to buy a whole separate rig.

I imagine the Kenai is probably a little nicer. But for those on a tight budget, a 1/3 discount, for comparable quality, is significant.

Well I decided to go the E Bay route listed above, ibwoodandtabby sent me an all black medium sized kydex holster, right hand draw, it was listed as for a Glock 17/19/22/23/26666/27 etc etc, mine holds my G-23 gen 3 perfectly, a 27 would still fit, and a 22 would stick out.
Fit in the holster was tight, but not too tight.
My nylon straps and buckles were well made, all the hardware secure and tight, but...………..it barely fit me.
I am 6"3 280, a big boy, I know, the straps full out down to the buckles, and the shoulder down to the waist strap I could be comfortable with, but when I wrapped the side strap around, well call me "biscuit", because one more biscuit and gravy and it wouldn't have fit.
So its tight, and would not fit me if I had on anything other than a T-shirt.
I contacted the seller, and he is shipping me longer straps, great customer service, I also wish the straps were a wee bit wider, but it is what it is, for half the price of a Kenai, I'm happy.

It has an odd cant with the barrel down. Can it be adjusted?

My Gunfighters, Inc Kenai chest holster is horizontal. So is my Quicklock Holsters Susitna chest holster.
