I have a Glock Gen 5 model 45 looking to get some more mags as mine came with two 10rd. My son told me not to buy the Magpul mags. Anyone have any luck with them?

They seem to work OK but I don't think that they'e metal lined. But I would't trust anything but a Glock OEM magazine to defend my life with and even if you only intend to use them for "Range" use, You never know when an aftermarket magazine might be the only one that's in the gun when it comes time for serious business.

**** happens and it can happen any time, anywhere.

I bought five or six Magpul magazines for range training. They cost two thirds of the price of a Glock magazine. I have yet to have one malfunction and since they're range and training magazines they get dropped on the ground, they get kicked, they get stepped on and as I said I've yet to have one malfunction.

They're also guaranteed by Magpul

I've used Magpul and ETS as aftermarket mags. I use them at the range, a lot. Stock Glock mags are run at the range one time and then used for daily carry.

Use the aftermarket mags to train with and beat the hell out of them. Step on one and render it unusable? Throw it in the trash.

I like Magpul products in general but mags for Glock ?
Genuine Glock mags are so excellent and so inexpensive that I'm surprised Magpul even tried for some marketshare.
Some shooters use them but I don't have a single one in the house.
Now the Polymer80 mag with its steel liner is a pretty dang good counterfeit Glock mag.....I have a few.

Genuine Glock mags for the win.

I have several thousand rounds (4,500 - 5,000) through a handful of Magpul Glock 19 15 round mags; in various Glock 19s and various Shadow Systems MR918s. 100% reliability.

I have also used the Magpul Glock 26 12 round mags in my Gen 3 grip reduced 26, my dad's Gen 4 26 and a friend's Gen 5 26 (early version). Again 100% reliability. Not as many rounds but easily 1,500 or so.

Get a few (they are cheap enough) and try them out for yourself.

I have several, I can usually get them for 9-11$ locally. It would not bother me any to use as a carry mag if needed at this point, they’ve never given me a hint of an issue.

Started with a single G19 size to test, maybe 3 years ago. It has been used in multiple guns (~700rds), has never been cleaned or cared for, and has never had a single issue. I always leave it at full capacity when storing, and the spring hasn’t taken any kind of “set” or lost any of its function.

I've got 4ea 20 rounders for my MicroRoni and gun games... Haven't had a hiccup yet!

Not sure I could conceal these so they are strictly Range Mags...

CCW purposes run only Glock OEM mags... It's the only way to be sure.(y)

I have a Gen 2 G22 w/9mm conversion. I use OEM mags exclusively for the .40, Magpul exclusively for the 9mm. I have had ZERO issues with the Magpul magazines, to the point that I hardly ever run the gun in .40 anymore.

I have trusted Magpul AR magazines with my life before, and my experience with their Glock mags leads me to believe I can do the same with them.

I have a hand full of MagPul mags that I use for practice and I was using them in matches as well. I’ve had them for four years or so. They get dumped on the ground (sand and gravel) and they have been as reliable as OEM mags. I don’t use them for self defense and I have stopped using them in matches because of their lack of witness holes.
They work great. Shop around, I bought mine for $9.99.
