i searched the forms and could not find a recent thread on this so I wanted to post another since mos Glocks are getting more common.

From what I can tell the mos slide sights higher than cut slides due to the adapter base. Also the burris fast fire and vortex venom sit higher than the rmr.

With this I decided to call ameriglo and was told I needed their 5xl for the mos with a venom and the rmr would be a 3xl. Dawson does a better job stating which works with what sight for the mos.

That being said I have a few questions for those using the Burris or Venom. Have you tried any of the above sights. How do you like them. Also for the front post do you have a solid black or fiber optic or a dot of some sort with the red dot?

I went through some hassle, trying to get images for different setups, and will pass along a few links I found helpful, in addition to my photo of my G34MOS.

The photos by mdkc were helpful (and I went with this setup due to the height)

Post 8 in this thread by SgtGing was helpful to me.

Below is my Burris FFIII with Dawson's, which may at least help you see how my Dawson's line up on my G34MOS a Burris FFIII.

Dawson Description: "Dawson Precision Glock MOS Fixed Co-Witness Sight Set - Tritium Rear & Tritium Front(For Trijicon RMR and similar scope bases)"

Since the subject didn't specify a particular red dot, I want to say that the Trijicon Glock Suppressor Night Sights co-witness perfectly with a RMR RM07

So much so you can align the dot with the sights and be dead on when checking the RMR dot adjustment.

Which front sight is that
I cannot answer for him, and he has a G41, but it appears to be the Tritium Dawson front. For my G34, the specs for the similar sight are as follows:

Part Number 310-071 (front and rear Tritium set for G34 and Trijicon RMR). At the NRA Convention in Indy a few years ago I stopped at the Dawson booth, and got their recommendation for my G34 MOA, and it worked exactly as I had hoped.

Sight Details
  • Dawson Carry Fixed Rear .395 Tall x .125 Notch Width
  • Dawson Fiber Optic and Black Front Sight .390 Tall x .100 Wide, Tritium .125 Wide
  • Easy to Install - Sight Punches, Allen Wrench and Instructions Included!
  • CNC Machined From Bar Stock to Exacting Specifications

SgtGing may have other info for you, but his Dawson sight looks similar to mine from what I can see in the photo. I am totally guessing regarding his, so you may want to wait for his reply.

Hope that helps a bit! Good luck.

That is why I went with the Dawson sights that I did. The red dot sits like a setting sun on the front post when both are aligned. The photo I posted is not perfectly aligned, and the fill dot is a bit above the horizon.

When I was searching for my sights, lots of them blocked the red dot when aligned, and I felt the Dawson's did a pretty good job of allowing simultaneous use of both as a true co-witness.

The Vortex viper has two white witness line that continue up the Viper. I do not know yet if they cowittness the red dot. Been shooting my hunting round to find trajectory from 10y to 50y at 10y intervals. Did not pay any attention to front sight. G40 is zeroed at 20y.

Will pay attention next range trip. Sorry I did not line up pic to index sights properly Lined with camera . I think I would need a taller front sight

With my G17MOS, and Vortex Venom, the stock front sight is just a little too low to see. Unless I tilt the gun up (then the red dot dissappears up high), then til back level. Using the front sight like that takes time. Only done if can't find the dot.

With the Vortex rear white lines, I doubt a taller rear sight is needed (dunno), but a taller front sight would help a lot (in those few times the dot is not initially found).

As it is right now, the red dot for me is slower than irons. A taller front sight might speed things up.
