Glock model for major power factor? USPSA Limited

Looking for limited division USPSA gun. What's the best Glock option for major power factor? Would the 9mm be worth it?

Thank you mysterious man on the internet. I was checking the rule book for the divisions and didn't see a rule which usually means no rule but doesn't necessarily mean legal. I haven't read the entire rule book though.

But this is making me want to get a G40 for all the wrong reasons....(as yard sale said)

I passed on a used 24 last year that I regret doing but still want a long boy and a heavier caliber distinction sounds fun from the dull drum of 9mm everything that I currently have.

Will a G20/40 feed standard .40s reliably for competition?
How about long OAL .40 like some 2011s do better with?

I think the smart move is a G35 Gen 5 MOS with GPT or Timney.
That way you can readily move on to Carry Optic or Limited Optic with .40 Minor.
Add a compensator and some ballast and move up to Open back with .40 Major.

LE surplus G22s are common and cheap if you don't demand a long sight radius and if you mean to stay with iron sights.

Yes, I have shot a lot of long .40 out of my G20SF.

Carry Optic or Limited Optic with .40 Minor.
And be uncompetitive

I value your skill dude. Thanks. (Nothing personal meant to anyone else.)

Going to stick to 9mm as I do not intend on reloading ammo. Do I have to go with a G34 or can I remain competitive with a G17?

OT : It's an interesting world I want to dabble in. On one hand, I don't have a set goal other than to make it to my first match. On the other hand, I dont want to compete with a P365 against a 2011. I don't feel like thats the "match" I am looking for.

Batt, if you have never shot a USPSA match before, it won't really matter what gun you start with. There is way more going on in competition than the guy you choose.
Yeah, I think the point of context here for me is just to go and not worry about it.

Once my feet are wet enough. I can decide then.

I recently made master in gssf so I can pick up a long slide for something completely different.

Already have a g34.5 with a dot.
A 17
A couple 19/26
And a Glock 29 with more mags then a reasonable person would want. Or at least that’s what people say.

You are right they do not. Was sharing a story of how I try not to deviate from what’s proven but sometime a product departs me from my money when the feature set is promising enough and I get burned.

When I do go to make my purchase I will run it by the group. My next gssf match got cancelled so I may try and pick up some form of competition in June / July.

Assuming I go the idpa or uspsa route as both are nearby and I get the Taran tactical +5 how many mags would I need?

Just to keep it simple. The goal is still to get a limited gun, but I think as many have said. Just take what I have and go and get a feeling for it. I will likely pick up a G34.5 holster to start and run it in carry optics or IDPA equivelent with a goal of following safe practices and finishing somewhere middle of the pack.

Of my latest matches, Gorka seems to be my local "pro competitor" at my local match. His last match was 8 among all shooters in Single Stack division (minor). There was 63 competitors at the last local USPSA match. With no limited 10 people competing (makes sense).

Yeah I meant they don’t produce a lot of g24 or 17L. Seems like they only build a few at a times and people like me are left dry.

I won 3 pistols at gssf my last match. Figured I would debate here what pistol to get. I am debating waiting to see if they release a 35.5 vs a 35.3 I’d be able to get with a cert.

Haven’t made it to a competition this month. Saving for some alternate stuff.

This weekend if my FFL didn’t give me the right number. Otherwise, I would have probably gone off in la la land and gotten a 41.

I agree, it would be IDPA only.

I need to review my local clubs options and see which ones do IDPA on which days vs USPSA ect....

I get it though, the 41 doesn't really have a home it excels in, it's behind in everything.

To be fair, a Glock Model 40 is also calling my name with a conversion .40 barrel (or just run .40 if allowed).
