I wonder if there are already some reliable rumors around about the features of the next generation GLOCK the sixth.

Interesting... I heard that the only change to the Gen 6 will be one additional row of bumpy dots on the bottom of the grip. This will be deemed as the greatest Gen ever by all the Glock fanboys. They will trip head over heels trying to pick one up. Glock will also be raising the MSRP by $100, but it will be worth it.

o_O:rolleyes: Satire but it's true. The delusional is real with most Glock guys.

Gen 6 is carbines all the way down.

9mm carbine, .40 carbine, .45 carbine, 10mm carbine, .357 SIG carbine, .380 carbine. Each caliber will come in three different barrel lengths along with the slimline carbines that will still only hold 10 rounds of 9mm.

The 5.56 carbine will be delayed for later release just after the Gen.8 guns.

I have heard some things about revisions that will constitute the Gen6, but I haven't been able to confirm any of them as of yet. I was told there won't be any substantial changes in the overall design, but the trigger guard will receive some attention based on customer comments, what that means, your guess is as good as mine. I suspect a better undercut, and possibly open it up a bit.

I have also heard the grip will loose the hump and a new backstrap will put it back on for those who so wish. Slightly revising the backstrap was also mentioned.

Take all this with a grain of salt, but the above mentioned items could be done with nothing more than a change in the molding dies. None of these thing would change holster, or gear fitment, so it wouldn't cause an aftermarket retooling nightmare.

FWIW this was the same source that told me about the Black G45 model being released long before it was announced, so I put some faith in it. Time will tell.

I do recall your early predictions, so I will accept your rumors as "Top Tier" rumors!

And the description seems pretty logical. As guns are made, dies eventually need to be replaced. Who would NOT anticipate some marketing focal points to be added as a way to drive interest (and thereby sales!). They can phase out old frame molds, and replace with new ones as part of a routine replacement as long as the changes are largely cosmetic and all the prior mechanical bits fit the same.

The hump/no-hump fix could appeal to some, more "tactical" trigger guard (bigger for gloves, smaller for size, or whatever the marketing group chooses to push as a cool new focal point!), and anything "new" or "Gen6" will have a whole boatload of folks looking for an early touch, forum post, or bit of fresh and new! They will provide a sales boost!

Grip areas on the slide, modification to MOS cutouts and sight positions, and new trigger options always seem to get folks talking, so sprinkle on a few of those! Add some military/LEO/stockroom QR codes for sizzle, and call it a day! Little money invested, a nice sales bump, and zero risk from an R&D and reliability standpoint! Win/win/win for Glock!
