I think we still live in a free country. That means that those who do not like it are free to not buy one.

That said, I am sure it will sell like hotcakes.

It will sell to those who want a factory pistol in that color. It will also sell to those who want a close rendition of what Glock submitted in the modular handgun system trials.

There are plenty of other reasons to buy one, and there are just as many reasons not to buy this particular combination of features.

Bottom line: it will appeal to some, and not to others, just like many other models in the GLOCK line.

Hi Deputy, Brother LEO here (Retired) I enjoyed reading your posts. Back in I believe around 1989 our Department switched from S&W 686 .357 Combat Magnums to Glock's (quite the switch!). Officers had the choice of either the 19 or 17. I chose the 19 (small hands, curse of the Irish) because it fit me better and secondarily because of the very remote chance that in a real firefight someone with a 17 could toss me a magazine, the reverse not being feasible. I distinctly remember saying and I have Officers who will back me up, “Gee, they should combine the extended grip of the 17 with the slide of the 19”. This I swear; remember now this was the late ‘80’s that I said this! Flash forward about 30 years; so why do it?

1. It is extremely aesthetically pleasing with equal slide and grip length

2. The longer grip should make it much more controllable

3. The balance should be amazing with the short slide and long grip

4. Recoil should be nearly non-existent since your support hand should absorb some of it

5. “Why not just go with the 19 and extended mags?” Extended mags are good but the 17 frame will support mags better

6. It is a little lighter than the 17

7. I like FDE

I will be purchasing the one the moment they are released! Stay Safe!

So much hate for the 19X, I think folks misunderstand why this pistol is being released,...money.

It's comical how some folks are getting so twisted up about it. It is a special edition pistol, not much different than the 25th Edition G17 or any other special run glock has released. It's bringing about the same money as those others also. With my blue label pricing it isn't much more than my 5th Gen with nights sights cost.

It wasn't designed to be a CCW weapon, or even a duty weapon really. It is a replica or close to it of the MHS submission, and Glock knows they can make money with them.

I for one have one on order, and it will become my range carry when I am instructing. I'll plan on hacking off the tab on the front and removing the lanyard ring, and shooting the crap out of it. The 17 grip gives me more control during extended shooting, and I prefer the recoil characteristics and tracking of the 19 over the 17.

Yeah I would prefer it in black as well, but for a range gun who cares.

Just like any other glock they have released, some like it some don't. If it doesn't fit your personal criteria, don't get one. I have no need for a G20, and other than a backwoods gun I see no need for one, so I don't own one, simple as that.

What doesn't he love? I don't know if he gets to keep the guns and gear that is sent to him but he certainly gets stuff sent to him.
At least Sootch tested and evaluated the G19X, the Yankeemarshall has not even held one. How can he hate on it without actually shooting it. I have not had the opportunity to fire a Sig 320, so I don't go to the Sig forum and hate on it. I do believe that Sig obtained the military contract with the Sig 320 because they under bid Glock (by a lot), not because the 320 is a better firearm that the Glock.

By the way the X stands for "Crossover".

What is wrong with Glock giving the public the option of owning a close copy of the 19MHS, (something many wanted). No one believes that the 19X will replace the Glock 19 or any other model Glock, although I do believe the 19X (especially in black) could become the duty firearm of several law enforcement agencies that are now issued the 19 and 17.

Come on glock. Make a glock 17 with a 19 frame, a 19 with a 26 frame, upgrade the 36 frame to a late gen texture, put a rail on the sub-compacts, make a model 40 without the MOS, how about a pistol caliber carbine. Gen 5 and 19x are a waste of time.
