Ahhh....mix n match.......

What would get my attention would be an “all metal frame” you could fit your existing slide assembly onto.
Sorta along the same thing S&W did with their M&P line, an aluminum frame.

Like they say...”Something old (metal frames) is something NEW again”...!

Would be easier if Glock stopped serializing the slide assemblies and sold them like other companies do.
Slide assemblies including barrels. Every time I trade a MOS slide assembly for a non-MOS slide assembly, I fear the knock on the door from the AFT after the MOS slide assembly I traded is traced to my frame. Fortunately, there are still American companies like Palmetto State Armory that don't serialize slides and barrels. Please try to support American companies that manufacture "Glock" firearms.

Beernut

Most 'frames' are the serialized part and have to go thru FFL's, NOT the slides and barrels. Sig does it backwards somehow.

Do you work at PSA? You 'seem' promote them hard.
PSA doesn't manufacture Glocks. They make wannabe/knock off's, glox if you will

Am I hearing this right?

The G47 has the same grip and slide as the G45, which is identical to the G19x?

So there are three different models that are identical?
From the article -

Glock 47 is similar to the Glock 17 MOS – almost identical, on paper. But the Glock 47 has a few tricks up its sleeve. Using a Glock 45 frame, the Glock 47 has the ability to also accept Glock 19 slides. Moreover, the Glock 47 slide is compatible with Glock 19 frames, meaning that the G47 gives you unofficial access to the long-awaited factory Glock 19L “long slide.”
I'm still waiting for the 46.

Oh thank goodness I was beginning to wonder if we'd ever see a new 9mm released to the public, pretty slim pickin's as of late, especially one that makes no sense whatsoever.

In the beginning, Glock created the full size 17.

But the 17 was too big! So Glock created the 19.

But the 19's grip was too short! So Glock created the 45.

But the 45's slide was too short! So Glock created the 47, bringing it back full circle to the 17.

Does that about sum it up?

No. You can do many different configurations with the 47 that aren’t possible with the 45 or 19x due to barrel/locking block differences.

This is the most modular Glock.
Can you expand on this please

Just for clarity, unless there's been an update I missed, I think you just misspoke.

In the Dagger thread, you recently posted this update which says only the mags are likely to drop next month, but the gun and frames remain "months out".
That's correct! The Micro Dagger™ (G43X "clone") optic-ready slide assembly and 15-round polymer G43X/G48 magazine (compatible with the OEM polymer magazine catch) are slated to drop "around SHOT Show" next month. 🔥

My hope is the Micro Dagger™ frame is production-ready and PSA is just waiting on the AFT. This can take a couple of months. We saw this when the Dagger™ Compact frame was first offered à la carte. We saw this when the Dagger™ Full Size - S frame was first introduced. You'll notice the Dagger™ Compact X (G47 "clone") slide assembly is available. However, PSA isn't offering the Dagger™ G47 slide paired with the existing Dagger™ Compact and Dagger™ Full Size - S frames, yet. Again, I'm assuming PSA is waiting on an AFT variance.

I know the entire Glock community is anxiously awaiting to see if the Micro Dagger™ magazine proves to be as reliable as an OEM Glock magazine. As with the new OEM Glock G47, PSA has the potential to elevate the OEM Glock G43X and G48 to a new level. (y)

You can't install a Gen5 17 barrel in a G19 due to the barrel geometry differences. But you can use a G47 barrel because it uses the same design as the G19 it's just longer.

So this allows you to swap things around more and make different configurations with the different lengths dust cover.

I thought gen 5 17s basically uses longer 19 barrels and 19 locking blocks no?
