I shot 60 rounds out of mine today. Its up to 110. Shooting some ammo from in a box in the basement from who knows when. At least 5 years old. Could be 15 years old, or more? Im going to shoot it till all of that ammo is gone. It shot 2 mags without failures of any kind. I cleaned it twice before even shooting it. Once after shooting it. Shot it a 2nd time, and cleaned it after shooting it. I think its finally breaking in nicely. I like it alot. Same sort of feel as glock 19. But mine, the G44 has a heavy trigger. It will break in even more.

I just picked up a G44 Friday evening. I took it to the range today and put 1225 rounds through it. Prefix ADUX

150rds CCI AR Tactical 40gr
2- FTF (First two mags)

500rds of Herter’s bulk 36gr target. (I’ve never shot this before)
2 FTF - These were early on before I did anything but load the mags in my hand. This was within the first ten mags. (100rds)

50rds of Aguila .22 Super Extra 40gr
2 FTF - This was after the first ten mags of Herter’s. After this I started “popping” the loading tabs after the seventh or eighth round then tapping the loaded mag on the bench.

100rds CCI Mini Mag Target 40gr
Zero issues

70rds Remington Golden’s I think (They were loose in my can)
6 - FTE could definitely tell a weaker load.

350rds CCI Standard Velocity 40gr
1 FTF
2 Stovepipe
This was by far my favorite round. Very soft and consistent. I blame the FTF on the mags and the stovepipes don’t really concern me either, it is SV ammo. These were also after 700-800 rounds through the gun with zero cleaning from start to finish. I was not really going for accuracy, but I wasn’t shooting at a 12” gong at 20yds and seemed to hit high. I mostly wanted to test my pistol against all the negative reviews. I’m pleased with it's performance thus far. Now to find more mags!

hey toocool45 my trigger was like your , I put in a ghost 3.5 connector in my gun and the trigger is almost as good as my Taurus tx22 trigger , I have now got close to 1000 rds in mine 44 no problem

Hi guys. First post here about my first Glock. I got my GSSF card today and will be using it on a 19.5 tomorrow. I got the 44 for my wife and young adult children to learn to shoot. And to have some fun with. With all the sky falling that is going on, I have not had them shoot it yet.

About my 44. I got it the first day they were out. I have been to the range 3 times and totaled 550 rounds through it. Zero malfunctions. I had one round feel "funny" The slide felt like it dragged a little. I suspect the round was a weak one. It still ejected and fed the next round normally. It was one of the first 30 or 40 shot from the gun.

I planned the break in as follows:

Clean and lube the gun before firing it. I did find some small metal particles in it.
Only fire good ammo for the first 500 rounds. I used all CCI MM 40gr
Clean and lube after each range session.

I read somewhere to only pull the follower down enough to load 1 round at time. I have done that and not had any trouble with the "tip" of round and likewise, no FTF.

I have run 50 CCI Stingers since then. Nice rounds. But, they kinda defeat the "cheap ammo" side of shooting .22LR

So far, I love shooting this nice little gun. Pleased with my choice. It is a shame that some people have had trouble and it is getting somewhat of a bad rap. I hope those remain isolated incidents.

Next, I will try some other brands/weights of ammo.

Edit: Cool. My first post was post #44.
Edit #2 - I forgot to add my disappointment. The mag release has been a little less than smooth. Kinda sticky. It seems to be improving with break in.

Hard to believe we made it through a weekend without another kaboom after watching all the YouTube hysteria.
I considered putting mind in the garage in a heavy metal locked box just in case it decided to KABOOM on its on. I almost did not purchase my G44 due to all the negative posts but went ahead and have had no regrets. 260 rounds to date with 1 stovepipe that was mostly likely ammo related. The round was not as loud as the others and recoil was lighter on that round.

Shot another 400 rounds through mine yester with the same three brands of 22LR

with the same results as Sunday which was very good. Yes there was a couple hiccups to which I can live with.. Overall I am happy with this G44. Now it was a little out matched by these other two,

which were 100% as to be expected. Switching between the three, the G44 felt like a toy a fun as hell toy. I can definitely get a lot of reps drawing from concealment and getting shots on target, shooting from cover and from around corners, and reload drills for a fraction of the cost. Now the only downside is you don't get the practice of recoil management.

Cold day, fired 281 including some Aguila Supermaximum- which was the day's only light strike (Aguila does that.) 261 + 560 is 841 total rounds with two jams against the ramp (Win Red Box) and one light strike. If I'd fired Minimags only it'd be 100% for sure. Pistol works very well! Getting better with it already!

370 to date.

Just put another 110 rounds through my G44. 100 rounds of Federal 38 grain Black Pack. Had two failure to fire, the rounds had a firing pin mark identical to all the other rounds and fired when put back in the magazine, I consider this ammo failure. The other 10 were Winchester 40 grain Super-X for comparison. No problems and definitely are more powerful then the Federal 38 grain. Total round count to date 370 with 1 stove pipe and 2 failure to fire, the stove pipe was with Remington Thunderbolt. All failures appear to be ammo related.

Up to 470 now. 50 rounds of 40 grain Remington Thunderbolt - No problems. 50 rounds of Federal 38 grain Black Pack - 2 more failure to fire the first time. I also took my Ruger Mark I out for grins and out of 27 rounds of the Federal Black Pack I had 2 failure to fire the first time. Either I got a bad batch of the Black Pack or it is just crappy ammo. The only good thing I have found about it so far is that it was cheap.

hey 5.4 Shelby try federal black 38 gr hp my 44 loves this load plus it comes in a 1100 rd box for around 40.00 bucks
I must have got a bad batch. I am having failure to fire with this ammo in 2 guns, a G44 and a Ruger Mark I. 6 failure to fire out of 227 rounds - they fire on the 2nd attempt. When they fire they work good. No problem with any other ammo so far.

My last post on G44 round count. Had my 44 a week and have fired 1062 rounds through it, with 6 stoppages. Today I had 3 with Federal Automatch, but it was pretty cold. Minimags were 790 rounds of that total with no malfunctions! Swabbed out the barrel and lubed friction points before I started, then cleaned pistol again Tuesday night. I've carried it everywhere I went all week too. Six out of 1062 is about a failure rate of .8%. Not bad. Probably as good as any .22 pistol.

I practiced some Indoor League, but this is only 40, not 50- I forgot 7yds. Not bad, just pretty much always get 3 or 4 in the 5 pt. zone. Those three were at 20yds. It shoots well!

*Earlier I said Fed Automag was good. Nah, had three failures in 31 rounds of it fired yesterday. Probably better than Thunderbolt, but still awful.
Thinking about a trip to Cabela's for some CCI Velocitors! That's what this little gun needs!

Another 250 rounds of unshootable 36gr Remington GB through mine this weekend. My son had one FTE, myself and another adult had no issues. Also son shot 100 rounds of Aquila HV and no issues. That puts this gun around 1000 rounds with him having about 1 issue per 200 rounds. Its been flawless for me after I started paying attention to 10th round when loading mags. We were also shooting a GSG 1911-22 it had 2 or 3 failures on first round nosing up over a 150-200 rounds, and a stovepipe that I had to use the Glock cleaning rod to clear. 22s on cheap ammo are going to have issues from time to time no matter how reliable they are. If I wanted to shoot mini-mags all the time I am sure these issues would be even less.
