Glock 43/ETS 12 round/147 gr ammo...no bueno

I went to the range today and brought my 43 with me. I had picked up an ETS 12 round magazine for it but hadn’t had a chance to try it out yet. I loaded it up with 147 grain Speer Lawman, put the magazine in, and slingshotted the slide into battery. I fired the round in the chamber, it ejected just fine but the next round in the magazine didn’t make it up the feed ramp...it just went straight and stuck. I tried this a few times and the malfunction was 100% repeatable. I swapped over to WWB 124gr NATO 9mm and it fed just fine.

I would assume the longer 147 grain ammo coupled with my gun and the ETS magazine was just incompatible.
I’m going to test this magazine some more next time I make it out...but at least in my experiences so far, obviously I’ll be avoiding 147 grain ammo with this magazine. Thought I would make a post as an FYI and maybe see if anyone else has had this issue as well.

I have been monitoring closely for this type of problem. So sorry to hear this !

I wish Glock would just make some high-capacity options !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish GLOCK had OEM hi-cap mags for the G43. Maybe the introduction of the Sig P365 will make them rethink that option.

FWIW, here is my experience, and failure, with ETS 7 and 12 round mags: https://www.glockforum.com/threads/ets-7-and-12-round-mags-for-g43-review.51028/ - things go south on the second page, post #28.

I've posted before about having miss-feeds with the first round of an ETS 7 rnd mag because they are packed in too tightly (and others have posted the same).

I'd had good success with my 12 round mags, both with 115gr FMJ practice ammo and with my 147gr HST carry ammo.

I've often posted this pic of my carry set-up: G43 with a stock mag in the gun and an ETS 12 round as back-up in the pocket.

UNFORTUNATELY, the last time out, I had two or three failures to feed from the ETS12 with the HSTs and with Golden Saber 124+Ps. :(

So, while I could experiment with other makes/grains of ammo, I will probably just avoid the ETS for carry altogether. I've since switched back to 1-2 stock mags in the pocket for backup.

Yep380 will be along shortly to say "I told you so." And he will be right.

I guess I need to take a new picture.
