Forgive me if I have a lot of “stories” as of late. But, I’ve retired and taken on two part-time jobs. One as a RSO at a public range, and the other in firearm sales at a retail store.

Today, a young man came in and picked up what was his second Girsan Regard. Said he was going to use one for the range and one for carry. Said his first had 8,000 rounds with no issues.

I’ve seen videos on YouTube but this was the first I’ve seen in person. Very nice Beretta copy and this model was in FDE. Looked very nice.

I got mine a few months back, traded some 50cal ammo for it at a gunshow. Since then I've put close to 5600 rounds through it, mostly Geco 115gr fmj. Sucker works just as good as a beretta.

How is that Geco ammo you've got? I bought a case of the same stuff a couple months ago, and am not happy with my purchase. The very 1st round I pulled out of the box, the bullet was set back probably 5+mLs. Alot of the cases have sharp burrs on them too...should have paid a bit more for better quality. Lesson learned.

I'm waiting to get my hands on the springfield model as they say they've fixed the hammer bite issue. Thats my only dislike on the BHP and clones with the exception of my Kareen's which have a built in beavertail.

The Regard is the Girsan Beretta 92/96 clone, not the BHP clone.

Please keep it straight:

Girsan Archives - EAA Corp.

Looking at pictures of "modded and upgraded" BHP's, and comparing the designs to 1911's, I don't really see the attraction. There are double stack 9mm 1911's that are proven - no reason to go BHP.
I know, I was just responding about the BHP.

I've got one of the Girsan MC P-35 High Power copies, in FDE. I wanted a black/silver one, but apparently they (Sportsman's Warehouse) didn't have one, so they sent the FDE. I decided the color wasn't that important, and since then, the FDE has gown on me. I even like the ugly rubber grips.

I've only got a couple hundred rounds through it but those have been trouble free. A mixture of my reloads, Winchester White Box, and CCI Blazer Brass. I shoot it pretty well, which speaks well of the gun. If I can shoot it halfway well, most anybody else will be lights out with it.

Oh, and no problems at all with hammer bite.
