Just picked up a Glock factory threaded barrel for my G19 MOS. I'm glad I stayed OEM because this one fits as if it were custom-made for my slide. I feel like you take a gamble with a drop-in barrel and I wasn't sure what to expect. The fore and aft play is barely perceptible, even slightly tighter than my original barrel which has been extremely accurate..amazing.

I don't have a suppressor for it yet. That's a goal for 2020, however I do have a mini compensater to play with in the meantime. I'm looking forward to shooting this with the new barrel. I feel like it's going to work very well. Anyone else have good luck with these?

To each their own. This was a $30 threaded generic 40SW barrel shot off hand.

I'm down to 7 Glocks and none of the OEM barrels have what I'd call 'free play'. They all fit well and they are all minute of dime accurate at 7 yds. I have 2 AW barrels in .357 Sig and had to tune one on the end of the barrel hood, just a bit, to get it where it'd go into battery like an OEM barrel lets it. Good you went with OEM.

I put one on my G45 and couldn't be happier..

Terrific! How does it shoot with the threaded barrel compared to the original? I haven't had a chance to shoot mine yet with the TB installed. Here's how she sits at the moment..

Glock currently sells two different G19 threaded barrels:

https://store.teamglock.com/g19-gen5-threaded-barrel.html
https://store.teamglock.com/g19-gen4-threaded-barrel.html

I hope you bought the first one above, since you have a Gen5 pistol.

The second one above will fit in a Gen5 slide assembly, but it lacks the Gen5 GMB rifling and it has the VAR1 barrel hood that has been on all pre-Gen5 G19 barrels since mid-1997.

I think you made a good choice when you selected an OEM barrel.
The gen 4-5 19 barrels are interchangeable it doesn’t matter which one

Tell us why Glock makes the Gen5 G19 barrel different compared to the pre-Gen5 G19 barrel.

If you can't come up with coherent explanations, read post #2 again for two strong hints. :)

Does that comp have to be indexed a certain way, or just tightened up? Do you take it off to get the barrel out for cleaning, or do you leave the barrel in and clean around it? Never had a threaded barrel or comp and curious how it is with removal and cleaning and such.

Griffin Armament 1/2 X 28 mini comp. I haven't even tried mine yet being Thanksgiving week but they get decent reviews. Honestly, I'm not expecting much but any little bit of comp may help me keep the dot on target a little easier. Especially with 124 +P..

My comp. is getting shipped to me tomorrow, should be here this week and I will be able to answer your questions then. The OEM threaded bbl. comes w/thread protector. All you have to do is unscrew the protector and disassemble the usual way.All you do on the thread protector is just hand screw it on tightly.

I just now received my notification on my comp. that it has shipped, should have a tracking # tomorrow and a delivery date.I just like the looks(same as the 19 pictured earlier) and will be another good toy to have. Just fun and games.

Waited forever to have this in stock from Glock. Got this for my G45 MOS/G19/5 MOS and G19G5, the stand-off distance is too short to use on the Agency Arms 417 Gen5 Compensator. If you have a muzzle brake type comp, it might work.
Nice barrel, but would probably work on a few compensators, just not the Agency one.
Talked to Glock customer service and their Technical service rep and they did not understand what I was passing on so they could share it with others.
Looking at the Griffin mini or get the Agency Arms threaded barrel to use the Agency 417.

I do not have one but from looking at photos of it, I would guess it does less compensating and more recoil reduction with the flat area the gasses hit against slowing recoil. I also cannot see how it's going to compensate when it blows gasses in all directions.

How does it compensate if you dont have to index it? Doesn't add up.

It looks more like a thread protector, with holes in it - which may explain why indexing isn't necessary and Loctite isn't needed.

No it doesn’t have to be indexed I tighten it with a 16mm wrench as tight as I can while holding the slide in my left hand while I tighten with my right

Just remove the comp and then you can remove barrel

Neither of my G45's have the MOS and as much as everyone praises them,I am not going to put an optic on my pistols. They may be the way of the future, but I'll just stay with plain old sights.Everyone has their own way a pistol will/should have as far as sights and this is part of the fun of shooting.
