It’s a new gun it will be slightly harder to remove. I wiggle the slide stop lever and push down from the right side only and push the pin right to left. When you lift wiggle push in and down at the same time. Also if your an armorer and your certs are current give call Glock professional and tell them you want the latest armorer Manual. They will charge you $25 I think and make you fill out a form. It will be mailed to you shortly after they receive payment and the emailed form.

I just spent a couple fruitless hours trying to get the pin out with no joy. It's almost funny I've done this hundreds of times with many Glocks over the years without to much problem this is my first Gen 5, now my hands are cramping and I'm calling it a night I hate to give in though. I'm actually going to go buy a Pilot pen tomorrow never thought I would be doing that with the purpose to work on a Glock.

So the trick is to pull the trigger bar FULLY forward and the pin will push right out. I could not just leave the trigger in it's cocked resting position I had to pull it fully forward with one hand and push the pin through with the other.

Thank you ArtoftheGun for the tip pushing the trigger bar fully forward is the trick, btw the pilot ball point pin did not work for me but again when I pulled the bar forward the pin popped out in just a second with little effort.

That's pretty much the procedure I use except I come at it from the back and use my index finger to push the lever down and forward and my other hand to push the pin with the Glock punch. Although I'm right handed I push with my right hand/finger and manipulate the punch/pin with my left.

I’m trying to detail strip my new 26.5 for the first time, and I’m really having difficulty with removing the trigger pin. I’ve tried pressing down the slide release in front of the locking block with a pen, I’ve tried pressing down on it behind the locking block with my thumb, I’ve tried trigger back, trigger forward and everything else I can think of. I’m about ready to order a goat from Amazon to sacrifice. There has to be a trick!

(Edit) &$@)$!!! Finally got it out with the application of adult language and palm smacks on the tool. I think my problem was that the pin and all the points that it contacted were bone dry, and the frame holes were an interference fit. It went back together easier, and I suspect subsequent disassembly will be a little easier.

Hey heavyduty try this and see if the pin moves, with the slide off and the trigger fully rearward and without pushing or even touching the slide stop trying pushing the pin from the right side of the gun to the left. Earlier in this thread I told my tail of hell trying to get the pin out as well and I finally did with the trigger fully forward pushing the traditional left to right HOWEVER I found it just as difficult the next time it did not get any easier and here is where is got weird.

I was just messing around and thought how will the pin move if I push right to left and with the trigger in rearward position and without touching anything except pushing the pin from right to left I could not believe the pin just pushed through with little force. So I have repeated it several times I can easily push the pin out of my 19.5 by simply pushing the pin out from right to left without having to worry about what position the slide lock is in. I don't know if that will work for everyone but it sure does for me. So I would suggest trying that and if it does not work try wiggling the slide stop a little but push right to left.

Wiggle the slide lock lever like it says in the manual. The Gen 5 pin is a tight fit but also has groove(s) to get aligned to R&R.

Guess I should add that because the dual Slide Stop Levers have to be pressed evenly to disengage the trigger pin at both ends at the same time, the diameter of the Pilot pen was perfect in accomplishing this.

I spent quite a bit of time using the G 42 / 43 technique with no luck. I wasn't evenly pressing down on both the Slide Stop Levers that way.
Thank you for this! Of all the methods I've read and watched, this is the one that worked for me. I had tried a generic screwdriver-like plastic tool for this method to no avail. When I saw your pic, I realized that maybe it needed uniform pressure all the way across rather that on one narrow spot like a screwdriver would exert. I found an aluminum punch that fit perfectly and wham, bam, I'm done, Sam.
Thanks again, so much!
